It was the fade I waz denying. In doing that shot, I pretty much put it away in a straight line with little if any real fade. I was going for either real heavy spin or power speed.

Oh. Okay. It was heavy. I thought they were inside-out spin. But I will accept that they could have been straight top. They definitely looked solid and looked like money in the bank.

Change to my style is unconscious set now. These balls I get to my BH corner I am stepping around every one of them and not giving it a thought. I almost seem to WANT it to go there to do a cross-court bomb. I am doing a lot of down the line as well when I get a return to my wide FH. Played vs a 2000-2100+ Hardbat player who plays that level vs inverted. Did very well. Lost the last of 6 matches vs him, most tight, but I pulled out the serve attack whammo when i needed it. Sometimes I would go for heavy opening spin, but most of my loops were powerloops

This is mania compared to 8 months ago when I was in BH open mode. For sure last summer I was in BH open mode, and seemed to try to continue attack with the BH. I only do that now if opponent tries to keep playing fast to my BH.

er echte, that sounds like a crazy bad tear! And it's a testament to how strong your shoulder areas and the surrounding muscles must be been if you're not exactly sure when it happened and you kept doing activities. And I know the cold makes things feel different but still, crazy!
Carl , shuki you both are correct its good advise . Along with rubber band training, doing drills with the backhands has definitely strengthen rotator cuff and made it hurt less. And shuki since I did those training sessions at your club Ray made a few trips out to Independence to train. since that I've got a few key people excited about training there out there so at least once a week (on slow day's) I'll get a 3 hour session in. Its obviously its not enough, but for now it will do and I can definitely tell it's made a difference. do still feel some pain but now it not as much mechanically moving my arm (which is good), but now it's more due to a lack of flexibility. and definitely seems stems from the spot where the no old injury was. it feels like I need to force my arm in directions it really can't go sometimes to have the proper form and the discomfort comes now from that tension.

gmiller, it was only around -10F in daytime and -30 when it got dark, you dressed right and not stationary you can cope with that... as long as there is no big wind or small wet wind. 40 degrees (F) wet and wind is 100x worse than -30F any time.

It is entirely possible, like many people 40-50+ yr old people, I might have already had a grade one tear and blamed it on just being old and cranky, then sudden force coulda done it.
