Table Tennis Journey in China with Myles Collins
Hello to all TTD fans, have you ever wondered what table tennis is like in China and how different does the Nation treat table tennis compared to the rest of the World and what the scale of table tennis is like in China? Well I’m sure many table tennis fanatics would like to one day visit China and see what table tennis is like over there and experience a top Chinese training camp. Join me as I tell my story of what table tennis is like in the World’s best table tennis nation and what competing in China is like on an international scale as I take part in the World University Games; the second biggest multisport event in the World after the Olympics.
As everyone is aware China is the king of table tennis and it is their national sport and of course they are currently the best in the World. In August I went there to compete at the World University Games which was held in the city of Shenzhen (South of China, near Hong Kong). I was selected to represent the New Zealand Men’s Team which included 3 other boys which were: Ryan Zhu, Aaron Gong and Phillip Xiao managed/coached by Murray Finch. The Girls team was Jenny Hung, Armindeep Singh, Natalie Paterson and Jessica Macaskill coached by Li Chunli.
Each week I will be posting videos of my journey to China. Below is the first video outside, I am just currently uploading a video inside the Table Tennis Arena.
