What I do is let the opponents spin grap into the topsheet and the rubber will create an arc from it and I just hit more forward. It's like I try not to grip the ball just let the top sheet stretch as little as possible.

But it's also possible to do the classical upwards countering when you try to grab the ball but that usually just ends up in very high loops, but it's uncomfy for the opponent.

I think the first method is better and more deadly and you push the opponent away from the table even more.

How about racket angle?
And how much forward and how much upward motion?

The non-racket motions are already good enough.

In general, Mantra Pro works best when really hitting "through" the ball and producing a good clicking sound on contact.

Pure brushing the ball rarely works.

Another note:
3rd Ball attacks are very very deadly now.
Forehand and Backhand, but especially forehand loops on underspin.
The ball goes long near the white line, barely bounces and immediately arcs downward.
My opponents are looking clueless when the ball just goes right under their rackets.
In the first 10 minutes of training, my partner told me to go back to my other racket because he couldnt return any of my FH loops.😅

And again:
The Mantra Pros are sooo satisfying and fun to play.

Almost completely open racket angle and maybe around 15 degree upward motion only, the rest is forward. The topsheet is very strong so it will use the incoming spin very well to make enough arc. It won't be a high arc but I find it very safe and it lands near the white line and it's fast too.

But of course, this also depends on how far away you are from the table and how much incoming spin is coming. Sometimes I feel like I almost need to hit downwards to choke the ball to achieve a similar shot.

Mantra Pro (especially the XH) lifts the ball even if you just smash it. It creates a lot of spin even from a smash.
It is addictively fun.

Can anyone compare Mantra Pro M to Rakza 7? Is it suitable for an all-around offensive rubber for developing players, or is it more of a intermediate-advanced rubber? I see mention of it being easy to play and insensitive to spin, but also that it is a fast rubber and somewhat of a boosted G1 which kind of confuses me as far as it’s level of control.

finally got myself a stiga mantra pro...... H version for my backhand

i like it so far, it feels very controlled and bites the plastic ball better than rakza 7

its strangely slow to me however if i just brush the ball, needs a bit more impact on my strokes which i had to adjust to coming from rakza 7

I tried Pro H and I struggled to use it on bh for that reason. Great on my fh, but on my bh side the change in behavior when using topsheet vs activating the sponge was rather unmanageable for me, I felt like Pro M was better on my bh because the softer sponge felt easier activate

I used to try the XH on BH, not for any long period just twiddle around. For blocking the XH is more stable but once you need to grab the ball and give it spin it's much more difficult to use than the M. M is great for the backhand just the right hardness and it works really well with all wood blades too. One of the club members uses it on Rosewood V on FH side and the M is great for him. I tried his paddle on my BH, it's super comfy to use.

Bump!

I have the same question:
Is it suitable for an all-around offensive FH rubber for developing players, or is it more of a intermediate-advanced rubber?
Too fast maybe?
Or would Stiga Pro M/S, Mantra Sound/Control or DNA Future M be better choices?
The racket would be either Stiga Cybershape Wood or Stiga Nostalgic Offensive.

It feels pretty good on the BH, not too fast, but just a tad too hard for me on that wing but I could see it working well for a lot of people who like a 47-50 deg rubber on the BH. The T05 FX does feel faster and bouncier on the BH which I like coupled with its softness and very light weight. The Z2 is very fast on the FH but more controllable in general, less bouncy and less spin sensitive than Tenergys in my opinion. I think the Z2 is very decent in the short game and not too spin sensitive.

If the Mantra Pros are similar than Z2, maybe the M would work for me on the BH, but I would have liked a 43-45 deg option like I initially thought the M was.

If you're still interested in a rubber like that, there's the new tibhar hybrid mk fx, 44° sponge.

I bought a sheet of Mantra Pro M in Pink from a TT store in Tokyo.

The color itself has a magenta tinge to it rather than the more pastel looking pink of Loki Rxton 3. Think it looks more pleasing to the eye.

Looks nice. Does it play the same with the black/red?
I probably won't be using it for a few months and I've never played with the regular colors before so I wouldn't be able to judge.

The only contribution I can make to this thread right now is "pink looks gud" unfortunately.
