Hey everyone, I totally agree with the title of this thread.

Why? NL is misleading you all in hiz vids.

You have all seen NL make a thread or three documenting his improvement in certain things, and he makes a ton of video with what he is working on... in these vids none of the stuff he is working on jumps out at you, grabs Ur neck and chokes you out. All kinda plain-jane stuff with some mistakes. NL isn't hiding anything. Unless you have some good training and a trained eye for things, it can be difficult to see the totality of his improvement over the last year.

I metup with him at Wash DCTTC tonite.

I asked him to serve to me for nearly 30 minutes straight. I think the first 15 minutes I had less than 50% return rate on his serves. We did some serve/attack stuff and NL suddenly can move very well for one step and reach - he has a good wingspan, so it is now damned difficult to hit through him. I have improved a level or two since our NYISC NYC meetup... I made a BUNCH of shot that would have been winners against NL if he was the same level... not happening, his anticipation and reactions are markedly better.

We also did a quick 2 of 3 match, he got it at duece in 3rd final set.

NL is right now a USATT 2025 to 2050 level player in playing level give or take 100 points... irregardless of his official rating.

His videos are not so easy to tell the excellent gains he has made in his middle game and serve game, plus his close to the table stable balance and stability stuff. Many of the things he is working on have 2100 level elements.

That is why I think he is an internet fraud, he done took my title away from me.

After all the video's I've seen of him, I've been craving the opportunity to play against him. maybe someday. Hopefully within a couple years. I'm starting to travel for tournaments soon I think so it may be sooner than I think.

Before anybody does , and this thread gets hijacked, as one of the biggest admirers of NextLevels exploits, this thread has been maliciously created by Der_Echte to spread rumors about NextLevel and as such invade his privacy , since NextLevel considers his actual USATT level as a private information ( it just shows up as !@#$#@$ on the usatt website ) , I demand this thread be immediately deleted and the goons be set out to capture 220 pound american, korean and german mix blood secret agent who is out to destroy table tennis as we know it
Truth be known NextLevel only divulges the last three digits of his usatt ratings and this kind of invasion is totally unwarranted . I demand that der_echte be sentenced to Finland , locked in a room with Archo , made to play with him till he gets good enough to comment on all things table tennis !

Since my official USATT is 2030, and Der_Echte puts me at 2025-2050, I think Der_Echte needs to figure out what the word "fraud" really means and whether he is speaking Korean, German or English as that might have something to do with it.

Now Der_Echte is truly a fraud. Unfortunately, my camera went into the witness protection program during this trip. So when I tell you that I did not push a single one of Der Echte's backspin serves over the net, it sounds like hyperbole but it is the truth. I also did not aggressively flip a single one of Der_Echte's topspin serves onto the table. It was only when I sometimes floated this no spin or topspin serve over the net and Der_Ecthe missed his Rambo loop (yes, his loop is a Rambo loop - it is not a TT loop) that I won points on his serve. A few times, I was lucky to block the Rambo loop, but a few other times, it moved so much it hit my finger and drew first blood.

Now this is after Der Echte drove an hour, picked up stuff, spend a hard day at work and probably even had a few burgers.

I'd not have a problem going through scrutinous 32 hours a day, 9 days a week, 6 weeks a month and 14 months a year training with Der_Echte until I can beat him 4-0 in a legit game.

Archos, You gunna need a lot more than just a Goon Squad to get me. Then, when you could actually recruit a Goon Squad Brigade robust enough to punch their way out of a wet paper bag, Carl's Spy Phone will know it and track them all the way to the DROP ZONE. They MIGHT think I am somewhere, but when they arrive, an enchanting and mysterious shapely lady dressed in stockings and miniskirt will funnel them into REAL drop zone - the famous TRAP DOOR. Once they fall into that pile of poop and sewer rats, there isn't a way out or a trace of daylight for a full week.

As for Next Level's post, I didn't realize he was already officially rated in hte target zone.

I had ACTUALLY gotten up at 5 dark 30 every day of the week, that day took two hours fighting my way through an expressway that was actually more like a PARKING LOT, picked up my Nexy shipment, then immediately turned and did another 1.5 hr drive to meetup with NL.

I was surprised it took me 15 minutes to have anything more than 50% success rate on returning hiz serves. It surprised me even more that my own serves vs NL in a 20 minute long Der_Echte Serve/NL receive drill went so well. I must have developed touch, or it was the new KJH blade, or I had replaced my rubber a month ago... or Carl warped time with hiz Space Phone. I dunno. NL was ready to jump of the bridge and join the last group Carl led. He had a rough time handling many of my serves and I wasn't expecting that. I thought NL had improved by 70 and me just 30 in that time span. My tourney results have been good, point increase not so much as getting to finals in my division the last 5 tourneys. That counts for a lot more than points, which ought to follow but this DMV 1800-2000ish crowd is a rough one. Serve and attack is propping me up more than the rest of my game. That surprised me as I gave NL a complete run-down of how I make every kind of serve I do.

NL, even at his current official rating has much room to move up before his ratings increase slows down. His ability to move to a ball in good balance was WAY more effective in live action under pressure than it had looked on hiz vids. NL isn't panicking and is holding the table, unlike Der_Echte, who waz drifting back at the first hint of wind.

Dude, I got so many RUSSIAN TT Friends it is silly. There like 5 Dmitriy dudes in Boston, 4 of them named Vladimir, another one there is a TTD MEMBER, another Dmitriy or more here, the "Who will be the next to join TTD" dude is Russian... and our friend from Siberia who posts those great TT club vids is Dmitriy. Heck, some of these dudes might BE the KGB or were bad-azz enough to kick them out and take over. They all got my back, because I got theirs. That is how we roll in the DMV and in Boston.

I have talked the talked, but since I got 6 ink catridges for my printer for under $20, I can afford to do full page prints. I think I will get some empty LARGE Coffee cans, and affix a few of the prints to it, so I can make a few INDUSTRIAL sized and a couple small sized cans of Whoop-Em.

Judging by NL's current rating, it appears he has opened several of those already and has more left in stock.

From when I played with him, his opening attacks seem far above his level. However, the secret is to not let him attack(serve well, attack first or drop shot). So his rating seems about right.
