In my search to get more information about the Nexy Etika Pro, I stumbled on tak9 and saw that "Spira" is out, Nexys newest Rubber.
So far on what I've gathered it has roughly half the price of Etika, wich costs 59Euros Msrp here. It has a tacky topsheet with a 47.5° Yellow and porous sponge and with some tension.
Possibly a Hybrid Rubber or atleast a chinese style Rubber with a bit of punch from factory.

It will probably take a while until it's available in other regions of the world, atleast that was the case with Etika Pro. Lets hope it keeps a competitve price and has decent performance.
Cause if so I can see it as a serious alternative to similiar Rubbers.

You can find some testing of it on Nexy Oscars YT channel, but they boosted their test version if I remember correctly.
And here the link to tak9: https://www.tak9.com/goods/goods_view.php?goodsNo=1000001042

Anyone tried it yet and can give some more inside?

Wow unexpected price.
That is the price at one of the shops. Maybe other shops will be slightly cheaper.

As far as I know, Spira is made in China. And, the performance of Spira aims to be similar to that of Chinese tacky rubbers. Spira is supposed to be quite tacky while the sponge feels soft. In the description, it says:

"Even among Chinese rubbers, it has the level of tackiness that players can trust and rely on. Because the rubber is very tacky, the protective sheet may stick too strongly."

The average weight when cut to 157x150 is supposed to be around @36g only (uncut 47g).
I think its targeted at an audience that would like to use Chinese rubbers but find them too difficult to handle

Look what taobao has pulled in today. Nexy Spira H. Guess what, it costs 110rmb in China. It has a very Tianjinish smell to it. Sponge is quite pored and purple.
The European pricing is painfully high. I'll test it tomorrow.

Nice!
Yeah in europe the best offer I got was around 40Euros which was too big of a risk for me to buy because there are practically no english reviews. At 110rmb this might be a nobrainer if performance is somewhat close to other Hybrids or sticky rubbers.

Well first impression is that I don't like it. It feels like a beginners rubber. The topsheet has actually good grip but it feels like it's not spinning the ball at all and when I do brush hitting it has no grip. Maybe contact time is not much.
Speed is ok but not amazing. I think quanshibao f1 and pinyi cuifang are better.

For flat hitting it's not bad to be honest but for driving and relying on the topsheet strength and sponge to make arc for you won't work.

It feels like something for kids. Maybe the normal version for BH is ok. I think I will remove it after today's session. 🤕

Not tacky at all. Like a shadow of a fart tacky.

Just some clarification, the topsheet grip with the ball on contact is good, it's not slipping. My meaning is when you hit hard the rubber doesn't grip the ball, it's not slipping but doesn't hold it so your contact time is low and the spin is very unsatisfactory the control is bad etc. I played match and my open up loops were murdered so many times like never and I was concentrating to make my opens as spinny as I can.
The topsheet doesn't stretch and snap back, I don't feel that at all. I said flat hits are not bad but I take it back, sure you feel like you made a good flat hit and it's fast and placed well safely, but it gets blocked back with no effort.

I hate to say but it feels like junk rubber.

Before I played with Piny Cuifeng 39-40 unboosted, I didn't play amazing but it feels like it has great potential, I just didn't play well because before I played with Quanshibao F1 which is different a bit. But Piny feels like it has the most potential as is out of pack. Compare these two good rubbers to the Spira... Spira feels like slow short pips.

@Zwill
read your review again and ask yourself if you would really recommend such a rubber to a beginner.
Hey, that is really an unfair comment. I didn't recommend it to anyone, I just said it feels like beginner rubber.

But now that you called me out let me even defend that point that I didn't make. For a beginner do I recommend Decathlon or Sitga or Butterfly or whoever to make some decent pre-made bats using this rubber? Absofreakinglutely!!!!
Why? It has good grip, it's decent speed, not that hard to use and light. Is it something that kids as first rubbers should use? I reckon it's much better than most pre-made paddles have so in this regards I think it's acceptable with some 5ply whatever blade.

As you hit harder the contact time seems less and less compared to H3 or D09 or any decent rubber.

I don't recommend it to anyone even for beginners since there are better rubbers.

Maybe to someone who wants to play with smooth rubber instead of short pips.
