After many internal battles with myself, and long overdue as a WCQ fan, I ordered a DHS Hurricane King WCQ commercial version from Global Sports Store on Aliexpress for only $178 CAD. Good deal for me, will post photos when it arrives.

I’m going to put my usual H3N BS and DP55 on the blade, but will wait until the 11.11 sale on Ali to buy those rubbers. I’m alr quite happy with my ZJK ALC paired with these rubbers, so will be interesting to compare the WCQ with these rubbers on

Hurricane King WCQ is very good, I played with both zhang jike alc and HK.
Hurricane King works better with hurricane in my opinion.
Zhang jike alc is better for backhand.

I am a two winged looper with more focus on BH, so that’s why I love ZJK. But I’ve tried acB and Long 5 before and it feels much easier to play FH with those blades. I think WCQ may be the perfect middle ground for me but we shall see

I completely jumped on a second hand advert for two bats, half expected to be scammed but I am now the owner of a Timo Boll ZLC and a Gergely 21 FL, both with (pretty used) T05.
I don't quite understand why someone would sell these for €50 in total even with the smoke smell.
Will probably test them for a bit but then sell/trade for something more suitable.

You gonna put them in a plastic bag w/ baking soda? Or let the burn smell become your trademark at the club?

DHS Long 5 (used, rather old from 2018) for $45.

Rubbers are a rather odd Red DHS H3 NEO and DHS Tin Arc 3. Too soft for any to be forehand so will pull tin arc (black) out to put Sanwei Target National 3, 40 degrees 2.15mm. Will save and to get it likely at 1010 sales, once I finish my exams

Butterfly Franziska Innerforce ZLC, weight 81 grams. Flared handle 23,41 mm tick at thumb. Its a round handle shape thats not filling the hand, but its thick enough. Checking anatomic handle also, but its thinner in the middle (but wider). Also ordered some Andro Nuzn 48 fra tt11. Hoping it will put my heavy soulspin Basalt blade on the shelf.

Well, I wanted to cancel the order, but AliExpress didn't allow me to do this for some reason...so I guess here I am with Stuor 20 (Harimoto SZLC copy).

Short game is amazing, blocking is very good, top spins and attacking is a little concerning in comparison to Stuor 301 copy. It's different and the control is less, but manageable I guess, needs technique adjustment.

At least this one is less flexy than 301 and on blocking the ball doesn't suddeny drop.

I am still thinking what premium penhold blade to get...Dynasty Carbon / BTY Innerforce ALC/ZLC/Harimoto ALC I JUST DON'T KNOW

Just tested out the Timo Boll ZLC/T05 on the robot, and I have to say I'm quite impressed how accessible this blade feels... The 5.5mm makes for a great, controlled feeling and it's actually feeling quite similar to my Innerforce Layer ALC (G1/C1) in terms of balance, grip, flex and feedback.
Not sure if I can actually feel the difference between ZLC and ALC at this point, but up to medium effort it's a very good blade to use. I think I'll actually keep it.

The other blade I got in the same steal of a deal was a Gergely 21 FL. Really completely not my kind of blade, but it was fun to feel the differences with both of them having T05 on both sides. It's been through a lot, restored and all... Not sure what I'll be able to do with that.

I've been quite satisfied with my current blade (JOOLA Rossi Emotion) for some time now but then Xiom went and re-released this guy for a limited time and the EJ FOMO bug bit me hard in the arse. So now I'm the proud new owner of a Xiom Hugo HAL I didn't need 😂
Dang I have been thinking about this blade for a bit, let me know how you like it!
So I've had a few weeks to sit with this blade and I'm really enjoying it. I wish I'd gone a smidgen heavier for a denser composition and if I ever bought a second one I'd probably go for something in the 87-89g range, but overall the feeling is just great. It has also pushed me to play a step away from the table and loop more than my JRE, which for me has a flatter arc and caters more toward a close-to-the-table, Harimoto Crab-san style that I just don't have the reflexes for. I slapped a pair of partially-used rubbers (GA8 47.5 and Rasanter R45) on it to test and I'm having a blast.

Turns out maybe I needed it more than I thought 🥰

I've now tested the Timo Boll ZLC at the club and I have to say it's an impressive blade. Tenergy and Koto seems to be a brilliant match and this blade being thin yet powerful is a very interesting combination... I think I need to test my regular rubbers on it to see how well that goes. I intend to keep it as a backup racket if that works out well as it just works well for my game.
I'm gravitating more and more towards going all Butterfly. There's something to it that just works well, and testing the combination of Spring Sponge and a Butterfly blade just feels so seamless.
That being said, Korbel is not my blade. I'm going to sell my Korbel Japan too, as well as my Yinhe Pro 01 and Pro 05.

Uh oh new gear alert :) I originally purchased FL handle but then went ahead and got the ST handle Hugo HAL and for my large hands (and a long history of using ST handles) this feels so much better. I know its a preference thing for sure but this just feels great in my hands. Now the problem is trying my best not to use this before a tournament I have in two weeks and stick to my current primary setup. Oh and the blade weight is 85.5g and makes my Sanwei blade feel like a brick weight wise haha I actually like that its a tad bit on the lighter side.

Such a beautiful blade.

Honestly, tried Rosewood V (shakehand version, playing penhold grip) and fell in love and was waiting for CS version to arrive. I am not disappointed. It's a bit slower than modern carbon blades, but the feeling and control is just outstanding.

Something even more special is going to arrive soon, but to be honest I am content with this blade for until EJ virus kicks in again.

edit: sharing a bit more thoughts on this blade. It's what I've been searhing for: good for blocking, stiff enough for over the table aggressive play AND not-so-stiff when playing from the distance. Viscaria on the contrary is stiff all the time and there's little dwell time on powerful shots, less feeling.

So Stiga Intensity NCT V Xu Xin edition arrived much, much earlier than I expected. Ordered it from prott.vip, pretty good service this guy has. Shipped in time.
Now I lack only YEO "wordless" version of all wood blades that Xu Xin and Ma Lin used.
Currently playing with Rosewood 5 and pretty content with it, going to put new TG2 Prov blue and T64 on that Intensity and compare it with Rosewood and pick the one I like more. So far 5ply hard wood blades feel the best for the penhold style I play.

And then not an EJ purchase, but rather a necessity: ordered Mizuno Wave Drive 8 white&red version, one that is the most comfortable and visually appealing to me. Old Wave Drive 8's are so worn out..
