Maybe the reason i didn't buy HL5 yet is the weight and the price, my HH3 is less than 90gms, so that i feel it light in my hand and better strokes, i say different weight versions of HL5, all above 90gms anyway, so should i go with minimum one?

And what is the commercial is different with than the W997?

I don't think you are going to find any of either HL5 or W997 below 90gms. The blade is a large head size blade.

Yes i know, and i should live with that anyway, so then i should go with minimum weight i can find, 91 or 92gms maybe, is there is 90gms HL5?

Well, i tried to find photos of my first blade un-assembled but i couldn't find, maybe i didn't take photos of it, so maybe i will start with it assembled with rubbers i had before, the rest blades i will post later unassembled then one day i will take photos of them assembled and group image.

Here are 2 photos of my first blade/racket, the rubbers are gone as i said

Now the blade has that person who took rubbers from me his rubbers, 80FX i think and Mark V, almost dead or used a lot, even if they are good i am not going to use them, i bought new rubbers and one day when i go to the club i will ask a coach to assemble with the new rubbers, but not sure i will use this blade again after DHS, hahaha

That looks like an awesome custom blade. I love how the grain of the wood on the handle looks. Nice.

For a long time I thought that light blades in the 80-86 gram weight were better for me. Now I realize that I like blades that are heavier. My current blade is a bit over 90 grams and now that I am used to it, it feels light and I have no problems with reset. My next blade will be 95 grams. So many pros use blades that are over 90 grams. I think that there is a lot of marketing about lighter blades. But I have held a baseball bat and a tennis racket and they both weigh a lot more than 90 grams.

One thing I know is, if a specific blade has a weight range of 88-94 grams, the ones that are 94 grams are going to feel and play a lot better because the wood is denser and better quality, (this is almost always the case).

So a 92.5 or 94 gram blade should be a good weight. It will put more inertia behind your strokes.

Depends what you prefer and don't count on finding a 90gms HL5.Having that said you could be lucky finding one, but the changes are slim.

Nice to see such a big variation. Which blade do you guys think is the most common on TTD?

This is really a tough question, it is like asking what kind of car everyone is driving here?

Well, in our club i play in sounds Butterfly is the top brand most are using, and Timo Boll versions on top of choices for them, and Tenergy rubbers and Stiga Calibra sounds the most rubbers are most common there too.

Maybe it is time for a Poll thread or statistics to see which blade is the most common.

Can you say blade modification!

I would love to try a good Clipper after you have done your famous blade modification to it. That would probably be a really good blade.

Sent from my Clipper-Phone using Glue-talk

I just bought wood glue (AGAIN, for $2 USD.) and will have it in my bag. Carl, you bring a rag so we can wipe the excess off smoothly when we glue it all back together.

For the METAL to fill in the empty space to strengthen the glue fill-in job, I reckon I could look on the sidewalk right outside the door and pick up a few empty 9mm shell casings pretty easily, since everyone is blasting songs in that neighborhood full volume that go something like "... and listen to my 9 Millimeter go BANG BANG."

I had a friend of mine who is a metal worker design a piece of iron that is the perfect shape to fit inside the hollow space of a Stiga Clipper and it has two vertical channels and one horizontal channel to fill with glue so it is fully bonded in there. And it will add approximately 20 grams of weight to the handle before the glue.

Ready for surgery?
