Hi Andy,

Good luck with your challenge, it is certainly a difficult one, but one I am sure can be achievable if you have the time and the inclination. Try speaking to Ben Larcombe and Sam Priestley if you are ever short on motivation or ideas. I am sure they will have some tips for you.

hello andy,

from what i've seen in your training sessions i believe you would benefit from making a more clear distinction between b/h and f/h body mechanics. i usually tell my students that b/h is all about the arm and f/h is all about the body. try swinging your arm less on the f/h and using more body rotation instead. i do a lot of irregular exercises with my students to show them how they have better reaction time when they make this distinction. this also comes in handy when they start performing f/h loop against underspin, because they are using body rotation (forward momentum) to generate speed they can use more of the arm (upward momentum) to generate spin.

please report if this helped you or not.

Best of luck Andy. I look forward to following your progress. I've only watched a little bit of one of your matches but I would say that you need to start working on varying your serves in regards to spin (heavy spin, no spin etc), placement (short, long, half-long as well as wide and into the body or crossover point) and getting your serves lower over the net. Do not underestimate the impact of a quality serve and spend plenty of time practicing your serves. And the great thing about practicing your serve is that you don't need anyone else with you. And with all the serving tutorials out there in Youtube land, along with advice on this forum, your serve should improve very quickly.
