Tenergy 05 = most overrated equipment item?

says 1-sided penhold is cool
Fact #1: All of us eventually will become uncles / ojisan.
Fact #2: If you live where I am at, you will become Asian Ojisan.
Fact #3: Asian Ojisan Type 1 plays with one ply hinoki and Tenergy.
Fact #4: Asian Ojisan Type 2 plays Cpen and long / short pips twiddler style.
Fact #5: You will become one of us eventually. Resistance is futile. Start getting friendly with Tenergy I say, you'll get a head start!
I've already decided I will become type 2 ojisan, cpen with short pips. Starting at age 26 :)

T05 + One ply hinoki 9mm aka Darker Speed 90 is like Mac & Cheese, Coco Crunch and Milk, Chocolate Milk and Chocolate Cookie, Richtea & Earl Grey.... you get my drift.

You have the wrong set-up!!!
This is like an old Japanese set up. For speed, not so efficient for spin. Very difficult to counter at close distance…

Cheers

Personally, I had my best results with it on my backhand with one very thinly boosted layer. It was a perfect hardness that allowed for good dwell on blocks and also good speed to play backhand topspin with. I noticed consistently better results with it (especially under pressure) for my game when using this compared to Dignics 05 (which I personally hated under pressure) and Hurricane 3 for backhand (which was really difficult to grip the ball with on my backhand under pressure). Would I still use it these days if I was still a pro player? Maybe, it'd be a split test trial between that and hurricane 8-80.

My 10 cents as a table tennis 2xOlympian and ex pro/Aussie number 1 Male

Oh yes! An ex-Olympian has spoken and given his thumbs up on T05. Tenergy lovers 1; haters 0.

On a side note, a fellow Asian Ojisan in my club who uses T05 on his BTY Senkoh ( BTY One Ply Hinoki ) said he loves the popping sound of T05 whenever he loops / ball contact. It feels so good, like the popping sound of cracking your knuckle / joints.

Have you tried Tenergy 19? Seems to be getting more popular with Butterfly players according to their profile pages.

Regarding Tenergy 19, I heard it's much more of a Backhand rubber than a Forehand rubber.

Can anybody using Tenergy 19 confirm this?
Tenergy 19 plays just fine on the forehand. I actually prefer it on my forehand.
I have two main blades.
Xiom Strato - fh T19 - BH EL-D
Xiom Strato FH EL-D - BH EL-D

The only real advantage for T19 over EL-D is that I find it easier to generate heavy spin on serves. Other than that they are about equal with some minor differences here and there.

Most significant grippy rubber in history, and yet most overpriced.

People also forget that it was mostly made and used with celluloid balls. When bigger and harder ABS balls came into play, people switched either to the hard version or D05, to have a bit less catapult and more stability with touch shots.
