The term 'TAXI'

It is a more general term being applied to TT in this case. The best definition is probably here:

In this example, the server telling the receiver that it is time for him to go home as he no longer has a useful purpose here

i didnt quite get why use "taxi" in this certain game...maybe because scott's opponent is embarrassed on the fast serve that he was not able to hit it...its like running after a taxi cab that did not stop at you...hahahaha...

In my area the term is used not on serve but in a rally where either the opponent has been wrong footed or has been completely run around and finally the ball is played to an angle where he/she simply cannot reach it. If you cannot reach it on foot then you needed a taxi to get there in time - "taxi".

Not used out loud unless you know your opponents though

I like it, the ball is placed so far from you, at such a good angle from where you are that, to get it, you would need a ride.
