I am not impressed. I saw a Richard McAfee serving video where he does the same as far as serving the ball so it bounces back over the net. Mcafee did it with legal rubber.

The video shows there is not much forward energy in those balls that go over the net so it does take much back spin to stop the forward momentum and go backwards.

A back spin serve with lots of energy needs to be fast enough to almost go off the end of the table and then still have enough back spin to bring the ball back to the net. I believe if you look at ma long serving videos you will see this.

Go watch the video again. There is an insane amount of spin on the ball. Many of his serves have a lot of forward velocity. The backspin is so severe that it slows the ball down so that it bounces several times on the table.
