Rough day for S Korea's top two. Down 0-2 in matches, Kyushu Carina's SYB lost to Top Nagoya's Miyuu Kihara 3-1, and Kim Nayeong lost to Haruna Ojio 3-2.

Big matchup coming up today/tomorrow (Dec. 21 12pm Japan local time). Hina's team Nippon Life Red Elf takes on Miwa's team, the league leading Kinoshita Abyell.

Kasumi Ishikawa completed her 47 Prefectures Thanks Tour where she taught and promoted TT to young kids throughout Japan. Gotta respect a player like that.

Random thought but I see someone who looks like Ito's old coach in the Red Elf's camp?

is there a stream/video?
When it is live, it is free to watch, but the full on demand video is usually uploaded within 24 hours is members only. But here's a highlights video which should be free:

Is Mima Ito still playing T.league this season? I don’t think I’ve seen her play at all so far this season.
I remember Ito only did one season and that’s it. She seems like such a loner and can’t seem to work well with others. I was also shocked to see her ex coach working for the Red Elf. I wonder if he’s a coach for the team or for Hayata?

@mikeytt Table Tennis Kingdom interviewed Yukiya Uda. You need a subscription to read the full interview.

Part 1
Part 2

Among other things (for example his back problems), Uda talked about improvements in his BH:

"My backhand, which had been a problem area, and table-top techniques like the push and stop. My forte is the chiquita, and I'd always viewed the push and stop as something I resorted to when I couldn't execute the chiquita. However, in this tournament, I managed to score points using the push and stop, too. Previously, if I couldn't execute the chiquita, it would complicate my tactical approach and I'd have to endure without scoring. Now, I can score even when the chiquita isn't feasible. My tactical range has broadened, and I can confidently aim for the chiquita when I want to."

Uda's new personal coach is Qiu Jianxin who is the father of Dang Qiu.
I know a player who has been coached by Qiu Jianxin and ever her BH improved so much...I am not even sure if there is anyone who has a stronger bh counter in her age group.

Hirano getting a beatdown from Yokoi. Putting aside disadvantages in fast rallies (seems like she is wearing a back brace on top of usual knee brace), Hirano struggled with Yokoi's serves and even in the short game. Ominous form.

This is the 2nd time Hirano and Yokoi met this season with Yokoi winning 3-2 the first time and 3-0 this time. In Chinese Super League, Miu can play relatively carefree with SYS, Kuai Man, and Qin Yuxuan as teammates to back her. Here, she's the captain so there's a lot more pressure.

With the Japanese nationals around the corner, not so good.

Hmm... I thought her Tieba superpower was performance under pressure....

Highlights from yesterday's team match between Abyell and NP Mallet's battle for 1st place in the standings. Second match is Sachi Aoki vs. Zhang Rui. Sachi is the player who won both her matches (vs. Zong Geman and Qin Yuxuan) in the teams event against China at the World Youth Championship. Third match is Sakura Yokoi vs. Miu Hirano.
