So whats with this bt mizutani major blade, havent seen anyone with it or talk about it, the threat about it on the forum is people making fun of some wanky bt sales department marketing.
It costs $40 in Japan. It's just an entry level 5.7mm 5-ply. Cheaper than a Falcima.

It's not even listed for purchase on the Butterfly website in some markets (like the US). Not something that would catch the eye of an EJ.

I wonder how sales of the Boll Spirit fare against its bigger brothers. It is selling for cheaper, but it always seems to be left off the table when it comes to any outer ALC discussion

As expected, doesn't look good for ESN. The low yen will only make matters worse.

These charts are the result of a survey with a couple of retailers participating. Finding mostly Japanese products high in the ranking is not such a big surprise, low Yen or high Yen.
A while ago I made the effort to check back these listings for around two years, and you would hardly find any of the newest German rubbers in there, no matter if the companies would ship the whole first production because demand in Asia was so high.
So, enjoy these rankings, but always with a pinch of salt.

Tibhar is pushing a lot in Japan with an original strategy:
Tibhar Japan (Asia) president, GC Foerster is a lot on SNS with popular (and Tibhar sponsored) YT channels, he’s participating himself in many amateur tournaments and events. And now Kenta has even joined Tibhar not only as a sponsored player but as a main shareholder and director as well.

I’m curious to see if that will have a visible and lasting impact on sales or not in say 2 year horizon . Together with the fact that Lebruns / Jorgic in particular are getting results with a spectacular and original game, it may well be…

(GC is an ex-pro playing who played in the Dutch national team and who is the current WTTC 40yo world veteran champ)

I have multiple sources, including the manufacturers. ESN have been struggling to keep profits up for several years now (since before COVID-19), and not just in Japan and South Korea, now that they have also lost Russia. Butterfly are gaining ground, or rather, getting back what was theirs. The Spring Sponge rubbers had never sold this well.

Mark V is popular among the older generations in Japan like how Desto F1 (and now F1 Plus) is popular among the older generations in China.
