Towel Rule

Hey guys, so I was watching the world cups and finals and something caught my attention. Players are going for their towels regardless of towel break at every six pint rule, like the current ml vs fzd match when it was 2-2 in the fourth set. Did the rules changed, does anybody know?

They did it at 4-4 as well.

Maybe something with the corona situation but i dont know.

Probably due to corona. Normally it should be during 6-12-18 and so on total points for towelling.

Was the hall very humid? If so, the match officials will relax the rule.

It would also be sensible due to the pandemoc to have frequent toweling allowed rather than wiping it on the table.

As others suggested, it makes sense to relax it. I'm just glad that it is not being exploited.
