That would have been the best, but it's more cost too. If they at least mix one ESN with one Butterfly rubber it would have already been better than what they did.
It's not representative of real-world use cases but to keep costs down they could have just 4 rubbers on 4 blades like for traditional penhold. That's how many studies do it for the experimental setup to find out the general trends. Otherwise, they could mix them up and try out all the combinations (or even permutations since some blades feel different on FH and BH sides because of engineering tolerance) but it's still hard to tell just how much effect (mainly mass loading) is coming from the other rubber.

They should use a standard rubber like Hurricane 3 or G1 on one side and then vary the rubber on the other side for the standard testing. That would be fairest to all the rubbers even with limitations.

Did you try it extensively or just a few loops?
Only for15-20 mins. or so. That too for forehand topspins. I think that the price of Zyre is so so prohibitive that people in clubs are very hesitant to share it for trials with other club members. Every minute spent using Zyre is costing in cents ;)

The rubber is too durable for anyone to seriously care lol unless you are a top professional boosting. My initial sheets from October last year are still the dominant ones on my blade lol. I don't spin heavily enough to kill rubbers so for me, having stable expensive rubbers for a year is better than having a cheaper rubber I have to change in 2 months because the booster evaporated lol.
