Because of Darko's relative success and because both Darko and Felix are Tibhar players (and Tibhar tables are slippery like Joolas), I hesitate to say confidently that Felix has leveled up. But it does look at this stage like he has in quite a few ways.
How do table tennis tables such as Donic compare to Tibhar, Joola, DHS and Double Fish. Are Donic tables more like Tibhar and Joola or DHS and Double Fish?

Lin Shidong vs. Harimoto matches are always very tactically interesting. They have similar play styles in that they naturally prefer to counter, and their games are built around forcing/baiting the opponent into weak openings.

I'll be interested to see how their rivalry develops in the coming years. Certainly it feels like Harimoto has had the upper hand tactically in their recent matchups. But just watching their games I think Lin has greater variety and shot-making ability and has a higher ceiling in the long run, assuming he develops more tactical chops and possibly more power.

That's the one reason why I wasn't in a rush to push for Harimoto but that said, look at what Felix and Darko did - we can hope. And Harimoto has shown an increase in forehand power and ability doing some new things - even his ability to serve long and get low enough to hit the Lin Shidong forehand every single time in that final game - I don't think there are many players in the world with the flexibility and power to do it the way he did it.

MS SF
Lebrun (6) 3-4 WCQ (2) (-9, 5, -6, 7, -10, 9, -9)

LSD (1) 3-4 Harimoto (3) (-7, -9, 10, 9, 7, -5, -6)
Having finished the whole match, the TO in G3, whether it was called by Kishikawa or Harimoto, was probably a necessary one if Harimoto indeed had a sudden onset of cramp.
