That's like saying every wood is the same. For pro every little aspect matter from handle, weight distribution and sweet spots. And you basicly know how your racket settles in after a long time of play. It still feels unfamiliar when you are used to something.

I'm not saying every wood is the same. I was just thinking, again not proclaiming, if I have a spare blade same model, weight, almost same feel and whatnot (even if its not my usual blade) I would still use it on maybe practice, training, team matchplays - for an actual equipment break-in to have the feel for it. Hence my inquiry ~ or maybe as you stated "still feels unfamiliar"

It's clearly a sign to EJ even harder to get used to every single possible blade/rubber combo, so a difference doesn't feel off!

It's called round-robin. Perhaps someone can organise a tournament where everyone picks a new unknown bat for every match. Or even set.

The thing is that 2 rackets are never ever exactly identical, but in this case I think it was more a mental thing...

Yeah sorry but your post is weirding me out. EJing is the epitome of changing your equipment to something else at least partially.
He simply change to his spare racket. In what world is that EJing ffs.

Although he did seem to have issues with his equipment, especially his bh, he seemed off this day overall. His movement, shot selection, tactics were way below his own level. On top truls did play better than usual, especially noticable in the me open rallies.

That aside the racket is just a dumb excuse. Players tend to check all the spare rackets in training, and he should have felt that this racket wasnt on point. Maybe it was badly boosted^^
