What information would you like to see on a TT web shop?

Hello Table Tennis Daily forum members ,

We have just setup a UK based TT web shop and we would like to provide information to our customers that isn't just the normal spin, speed and control type statistics.

Whilst setting up the site we got thinking... What information could we provide that you as a buyer would think "it would be really useful if..."

So who better to ask than the forum users directly

I think it would be cool and useful if for blades and rubbers you provided a “faster than, slower than” section for each. I think this would help buyers select and compare blades and rubbers to ones they have previously tried as at times it can be quite difficult to find someone with the exact blade you want to try.

I really like Paddlepalace's universal speed and spin chart. It might not be 100% accurate but when I first got into TT it helps me decide that Rozena is not a beginner rubber. Other useful information is thicknesses, sponge hardness etc.

I definitely need some explanations on how you test your equipment. For example, a thorough scientific methodology to determine rubbers/blades with speed/spin, control characteristics.

blade:

No of plies
Thickness
Wood/Carbon composition (core, medial, outer)
Soft Med Hard
Vibration
Blade dimensions
Handle dimensions
Weights available

Rubber:

Rubber Hardness as compared with Tenergy/MXP
Sponge hardness as compated with Tenergy/MXP
Sponge to Rubber ratio (thin topsheet, thick sponge etc.)
Rubber weight for each thickness
Speed as compared with Tenergy/MXP
Ball grab/Spin
Tackiness

When I buy from a TT web shop, as we all have to in the UK unless we live near Middlesborough, I expect their web site to give some indication as to where they are based and a telephone number in case of delays or other difficulties. If this information isn't present, I don't buy from that company.
