What is the technical reason Ma Long and top pros love W968?

I am with @Tony's Table Tennis on this one. There’s nothing wrong with posting many threads, because it contributes to people being more active here.

But whenever you do post a thread you seem to dismiss 95% of the answers with replying: “no this is not the answer I was looking for, please try again” (not literally, but it comes down to it).

At that point all you are doing is take take take and not giving really giving back any appreciation to the people still responding to you.

That’s exactly what came up in my mind reading his threads

its the same,
1) how do I play xxxxxxx (fill in the blank space) kind of player
2) how is this equipment
3) why xxxxxxxx (fill in the blank space)

if it is sincerely asked, I will answer sincerely.

So, now I am testing to see how OP stance is based on my 3 questions here

TB, can you answer these questions:
- where did you purchase your dhs w968.
- was it brand new?
- did your pair it with DHS H3 prov or national blue sponge rubbers?

If it is another apples vs orange thread and then concluding apple is not good, because he use orange, I will just use face palm emojis on this thread

Pretty sure he’s never owned a W968, although he probably could’ve saved up for one by not spending everything on clones.
As he said he just briefly tried a guy’s provincial W968 not knowing anything about its originality, rubbers and condition. He was disgusted by the bat so he left it there… drawing these conclusions

if he live his life by having so little data and making rash conclusions like this, I would say credibility is way too low.
imagine if he is a financial broker..... run away fast!

but hey, I tested it for "x" min, so I conclude it is so slow. Why does Ma long use such a slow blade.....
🤦‍♂️
I would like to turn around and say, dude, you can't even do 10 top spin balls (or just 1 counter top spin) to the level of a provincial player of the weakest province in China.... and want to talk about hands feeling or control of W968 versus that of the elite DHS sponsored players? maybe this is a bit harsh, but its facts. Maybe problem is not the blade, but the user? I wonder if OP ever thought of that truth?

W968 is one of the fastest blades out there, that have so many gears when paired with H3 blue sponge.
If it wasn't for the replacement life span, so many more players in Taiwan would probably use it.
But they choose Viscaria (like me) or Super Viscaria rather. Of which these 2 blades are also labeled slow too haha 🤦‍♂️

Its okay, we use these slow blades and are kicking ass. Just like Ma Long is using slow blades to kick ass.
I wonder if any one turns up on TTD in few years time and reads that W968 is slow, and believes in it, and spends a stupid amount of money and regretted it due to not knowing how to filter forum information

The guy buy clones and thinks they are good as OG.

I always wondered, how do you test clones vs originals
if you have never owned originals?
Is it just me, or does anybody else feel there is something wrong with all these test results?

I some times just think, it is an EJ virus doing the work, but then, there are some serious "how to I beat certain players" questions..... so its not just EJ, but in him, he wants to win rallies too....

I have w968 from Jang Woojin with modified handle (bigger, more squarish and his face pic on bottom).

Even though this blade gives me best feedback out of all the blades I have tested and the ball quality is superb (asked coach to rate my shot quality, without telling him what blades I am using), I am not able to play with it with my weak physique. I can use it for 5 min and after that I have no more strength to swing my arm or do quick bh/fh changes. The head is huge, so it is very head heavy and it weights 92g.

1 thing I can say for sure is that it is not a slow blade, at least the model I have. For me it is even too fast, but that's probably because I don't play with chinese rubbers. I don't even want to think how heavy it is with few layers of booster and glue
Even bigger head than normal w968? As expected of Korean Ma Long. Havent seen him do a forehand he couldn't hit.

Very simple solution, 'hey'. Feel free to add me to your ignore list. I believe none of my threads will appear to you anymore.

If not, you have no more excuses.

I never click on your threads. I don't know why you feel the need to click on mine all the time.

I genuinely appreciate every person who takes time to reply to me. I have never casually dismissed anybody's reply to me.

However, some replies will simply resonate with me, some will not, and some I may be 50/50 in agreement. Nothing wrong with that I think.

If somebody replies to me "w968 is 10 times better than Dhs Fang bo", i do not say 'please try again'. I carefully consider his logic and reasoning. However, at the end of the day, i simply cannot accept this answer as a useful answer for me personally.

In regards to this thread, I never said w968 is not good and I never dismissed anybody's reply. I simply asked, what makes w968 the desirable choice for top pros? Certain individuals misinterpreted me as saying that the blade is not good.

what makes w968 the desirable choice for top pros?

if that is the question, well you should ask the top pros because they know the answer

is there any top pro here?

but since you asked the question here on this forum, what do you expect?

here we only have the top pro EJs - and Tony battling it out in game 7 against Zeio (by the way Tony how is that going?)

this topic goes nowhere, just like most of your posts

Politely disagree with you.

Many people replied that in the hands of a top pro, w968 allows a full swing to impart power and spin. Many said that pros are willing to sacrifice speed for the sake of added control.

This seems to be the consensus answer, and it is reasonable to me. A Pro was not needed to answer this question.

A home-cook could answer, why a top chef prefers one type of knife over another.

Are you a PRO? If not then the whole argument is kind of useless. I am (& probably others) curious to know your USATT rating.

I'm sorry, I don't follow. What "argument"?

I was simply curious about the thought process a pro employs when choosing the 968 vs other popular blades: Viscaria, TB ALC, Harimoto ALC, etc. What does this have to do with being a pro or not?

I am not a pro and I have also posted footage of my play on the board. Don't see what that has to do with this topic though.

You can find some videos of him doing “multiballs” judging by that I’d say 1400-1500 max but he does not participate in official USATT tournaments.
