Best:
Yinhe 980XX and H3 BS 39 on FH.
Sword Razor and Pimple Slide 1.2mm on BH.

Worst:
Xiom Stradivarius and 2x Omega V DF - too fast, too springy.
Yasaka Silver Line Carbon and 2x Mark V - too much vibrations.
Stuor CNF and fake T05 on FH - just terrible.

No no no. You got it the other way around.

Best is 729 short pips forehand. Worst is Zyre 03.
Funny you mention worse is z03. Sometime z03 is the worse, true! In what way is z03 truly terrible?

From my personal experience after using only for a couple of months, z03 turned my former BFF, that is, D05 and made it became a meh rubber.

Now, nothing feel right except z03. z03 is habit forming. Stay away! Bewarned!

I dont play with it simply because i dont like the cybershape. But no better reason than that
So the best equipment combo you've ever tried is on a blade you don't like but according to you it's "Simply amazing. Nice weight, less strain on shoulder, good feel. Best handle I ever held". 😂

How does this make any sense?

Best: Stiga Dynasty Carbon, FH: Xuperman Powerplay X (if only it were durable :cautious:), BH: Hurricane 3 37°
You cant get any more spin than this.

Worst: Yinhe T-11s, FH/BH: Andro GTT 45
No spin at all - no topspin possible. The ball just flew straight ahead like a beam...
T10 was worse

I would say Zyre-03 is a very good rubber, but I don't think it's worth $120 USD. I remember one of your posts you showed you got it from 70ish USD, which that makes the rubber worth that price! I used it a few times and I was very surprised that I was able to adjust to it coming from Hurricane 3 when I twiddled it to my forehand, but I mainly used it for my backhand. For my penhold backhand, I prefer something that has a slightly harder topsheet, so that's why I got rid of the Zyre-03. I did also notice that every so often the ball would kinda just dump into the net from the grippiness, which other people that I've seen do reviews had the same experience. In terms of worse, speed wise Zyre wins, spin wise Hurricane beats it, but they're both excellent rubbers and I think they're a good FH/BH combo 🙂

best:
FZD super alc, FH h3 neo 41° BH h3 neo 37° all boosted, its like the meme unlimited powaaaa, what a great combination for real

Xiom Hugo tmxi pro, FH h3 neo 41° BH h3 neo 37° all boosted, this blade its consistent, has power, balance, craftmanship and damn what a nice handle, but really sad how xiom just cannot keep their top blades for more than one year RIP

Stiga infinty VPS V, FH h3 neo 41° BH yasaka anti max, after watching miss winter play the 5ply anti set, this was my attempt and holy crap, its really nice to play, the blade and the rubbers are one with my hand

worst:
Hurricane king acb. FH h3 neo 41° boosted BH yinhe super kim 1.1mm, I thought this blade could work with the best long pips rubber I have used, but i did not click for me sadly

stuor W968, FH h3 neo 41° BH h3 neo 37° all boosted, holy shit this blade was dogshit haha, good thing it did not cost more than 10usd, but reallly wanted to try one lmao

From the standpoint of I really didn't expect it, the best blade was a Loki 5ply wood that I only got because I wanted the case that came with it. The case by itself was more expensive. It was also CPen - I do not play CPen. I also bought this set of rubber (cuz I wasn't about to put a nice rubber on it) that was 2 dollars front and back, some training rubber from a company that's now bankrupt. Actually slapped pretty hard for basically 5 dollars. Held the fort against some of my peers.

Absolute worst: A Sanwei 968 SP I originally intended to put together for a friend. To be fair, I think the rubbers were doing the heavy lifting of being absolutely useless. FH: Sanwei Target Pro Gold. BH: Sanwei Target 37 Soft.

Now that I think about it the 37 soft wasn't that bad. The Target Pro Gold I have never forgiven. I was looking forward to that one a lot for some reason, but I gave it 3 tries and each example was just as bad as the first. Tack disappeared like day 3, then it just became a slippery blob.

Would 980xx be a significant upgrade on 980 which I like so much? I play a mix of Mattias Karlsson ( formerly Falck, formerly Karlsson) and Yuka Kaneyoshi…with reduced size of the blade for weight control. SP fh, Moon 12 bh.
980XX is slower and a bit more flexible than 980. Both of them are relatively stiff in the category of 5ply all wood blades. 980XX can be an update if you need more spin and control. I tried Degu 2 and various LP on the BH, but don't like the combination. For me, I worked better with 729 Super Soft and Slice CS on BH. H3 on the FH is a match from heaven.

There is 980 Ultra with limba top layer and carbon. I never tried it, but expect to be close to Spinlord Ultra Carbon Def.

Sword Razor could be a good update of 980. Same ayous top layer, more control, huge sweet spot for all wood blade, and similar speed. The only drawback is the weight, around 100g. If you reduce the head size, it will drop but not much: 2-3g.

Thanks, always good info from you! I will keep my modded 980 then, no need for a slower one.

Bye the way,my worst bat so far is Loki K9 Ebony with Loki Arthur- C green! Stiff as a plank, every shot went too far.

my worst:
Tibhar Triple Carbon / FH: Butterfly T80fx / BH: Stiga Airoc S
Even with the soft rubbers i couldn't feel/control that blade.

Best:
Neottec Magic Control / FH: Nexy Karis M+ / BH: 61second Kangaroo
The best of both worlds, great speed with the Karis and great control with kangaroo. (before they removed the stickiness from factory)

It's hard to reach the bottom, but in my childhood I had many such rackets, starting with a 200 gram Vietnamese blade with bald green rubber and ending with rackets from the store. What was worse, probably only books :)
And the top peak is also hard to reach, because now I have many wonderful rackets, they are all different and play differently and it's actually very fun!
