Why is the arena so dead?

They should have all WTT events in France! ;)
You're right, there is a serious lack of atmosphere at the morning sessions, like everyone is at work and will come to the evening session. They should fill it with school children or do something to fill those empty seats..

There was a small tent last year in the "fan village" with tables, but can't take them seriously. Inside the venue there was the Spinsight small where you can measure spin, but that's about it for activities there. It's also really cold now.
No, you can't take them seriously but I think you're not supposed to either, if you're there with a few mates it's just a way to kill time and have a bit of fun, with beer tho!😁
I still have my mug and keyring from last yr although the mug hasn't fared too well in the dishwasher. I'll put a layer of clearcoat on the next one!😂

Still embarrassing for a champions event imo.
Agreed, but also expected at this point. Montpellier was an outlier because they had the benefit of still being able to ride the wave of the Lebruns and their Olympic gold being a national news story.

Matches always run behind because of how much time they allot per match in the schedule. But yes as the tournament winds down there will be more of a break period in between. Fan village is always a joke.
Half an hour seems about right since we are on best of 5 until semi-finals. I had over an hour break last year on Wednesday (and my quest for food failed horribly).

Last year Wednesday was a holiday for a lot of people here, but it was a Sunday this time so that doesn't help, but yeah, seems like there is less going on so far.

I mean, seriously, why are not umpires calling out LSD's shovel?
He has won over 10 points with that illegal crap, it's just disgusting. The ball is fully covered by the body, it's impossible to see the spin. And I am pretty sure LSD does this on a regular basis.

and i'm 1000% certain LSD knows this and will continue
WCQ has started this trend and it is like these kids are relying on hidden serves to win and not from rallies....
its not a good sign if I was the head coach

LYJ is a lefty, it makes a bigger difference for him than for other players. Even Wang often does the same.
Indeed, it can be a strong weapon for left-handers. (I am also a lefty;)....)
I'm still regularly annoyed by players at this level who don't see the opportunity to play in parallel.

What a sad comment. He was clearly referring to Gauzy keeping things closer with the Lebruns due to their familiarity gained through practicing together, but you are desperate to find an argument lol.
Everyone is wrong here.

Last French Nationals win was 2021 for Gauzy, he was still able to beat Alexis in the semis in Cesson-Sévigné. It was the last best year for Simon, right before the Tokyo OG where the Lebruns were not in the french squad (Gauzy, Lebesson, Cassin, Akuzzu).

Then the burn out, he started to be sick in llate 2021 and before the French National in march 2022 he wasn't that well. The peak of the burn-out came after the ETTC in autmun 2022, that's when he asked for help from a psychologist. At that same time he was transitioning to the new carbon blade, leading to shoulder issues, here in march 2022 before the final vs Alexis and still with the all wood blade.

Now, the Bros often train in Ochsenhausen now, because there's a stronger opposition than in Montpellier, in order to prepare for big events. That's what they've done this year for the OG in Paris. And in the french squad... it's like any other country: you train with your team mates.

The head coach don't care, China cheats to win since ages, there's no will to enforce the rules with VAR because China simply does not want it. And then China whines because they don't have the respect they think they deserve. Pathetic hypocrites.

Who is wrong about what? NextLevel that Simon has gotten opportunities to train with the Lebruns since they emerged as world forces and likely benefited from it to some degree?

Or me that the Lebruns outworked Gauzy on the table? I know you are so sure that I'm making up fake news but before you accuse people of lying, you should educate yourself on how frequently teammates/training partners of these players come to the US or how some of them are even living here now such as de Saintilan, Angles, Lorentz, B Dupont, Hachard and Esteban Dorr. Lots of people have been through Ox and the US too ;)

Did the French head coach care to stop Lebesson from serving so illegally?
