Miwa has a solid all round games with quality shots rarely seem at players of her age. But she doesn't have a killer shot that scares her opponents.
Tomo, started with super fast backhand (flip/drive/loop/punch) as his killer shot. His game at that time was unbalanced with forehand his major weakness. At the early sage of his table tennis career, most pros, even including top Chinese ones were shocked by his devastating backhand lightening quickness. When Tomo added quick shots down the line from the backhand, even Ma Long, FZD couldn't handle it. That's why he scored a few eye-catching victories against these heavy weights. Once Chinese analyzed his game and explored his weakness, his effectiveness against them went down markedly. Of course, he has also been busy developing his game, trying to make his game more balanced and he succeeded in good degree which is why he still remains the threat to Chinese, just not as effective as before.
In summery, Miwa is a late boomer (compared to Tomo) due to lack of killer shot. Tomo, blessed with a killer shot was an early bird. Which sibling can go far, early bird or late boomer? Will be interesting to see. But I'm leaning on Miwa.

You are wasting your time here. I have no problem, you or anyone think Japanese and Koreans are Chinese descendants. But that's not the official statement of Chinese government, let alone CCP which has no business involving in these sensitive foreign affairs. Even Wang Yi won't say this outright. Saying China, Japan and Korea all form the bulk of the East Asian and share similar culture is one thing, claiming Japanese and Korean are virtually Chinese is quite another.
Just an interesting note, there is an island called Taiwan whose residents are primarily all true Chinese descendants, yet, the majority of them, especially among younger generations would refuse to acknowledge they are Chinese.

Yes she has - she has incredibly spinny loops on both wings that most opponents fear. Also the trademark Harimoto BH down the line is even better than her brother's because she often does it directly against pushes which makes it a lot more deadly. It is a shot that is rarely done in the women's game (even SYS doesnt have this down the line BH powerloop against underspin).

As I said in the early thread, peace is required, and Taiwanese people feel that the time isn't right to fight for what is right.
CCP has never owned Taiwan and it will never.
Taiwan belonged to Qing gov, then Japan, than allied, then ROC.
CCP cannot take Qing, Ming, Yuan and claim everything under the previous gov are theirs, and that is exactly what they are doing in the invasion of dozen country space.

China is busy saying the whole asia are theirs, didn't realize you will take it so serious.
however, maybe ww3 tension build up probably shouldnt be joked about.

But on that note, there are some studies from China that state Koreans are from Chinese ancestors, and some even state Japan too.
I don't take things too serious from China, since they also claim the American Taiwanese NBA player - Jeremy Lin as Chinese.

Heck, they even claim Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company as theirs too.

Taiwan's official olympic naming, due to CCP pressure to the west.
Taiwan played under the following names:
China (Republic of China, when PRC didn't exist yet)
then PRC complain, so they changed name to Formosa
then it was Taiwan
then it was ROC
all the time, PRC was complaining (yes they been complaining for few decades)
so since 1984 Taiwan has been playing under Chinese Taipei.

Taiwan prefer peace and have not send 1 airplane or navy ship into Chinese waters/space (or any other country) to provoke the CCP or any gov. I can't say CCP and its military has the same view with its neighbors (in fact they are a big problem in Asia).

End of the day, I wish everyone who sees players playing under Chinese Taipei - to thank them for preventing World War 3, because someone loves to complain. So Taiwan, just keeps changing its olympic names for the sake of humans to live longer.

CCP has made Taiwan and its flag in the same group as Russia and Belarus. Taiwan is a peaceful country, but CCP and its debtors choose Taiwan to be banned and trying to paint it very evil.

So zeio, if you are not on ccp's pay check, you should also thank that people of Taiwan vote for peace. Else you won't even have a computer to type your agendas on.

Amazing display by Miwa. Feels like I'm watching a CNT vs CNT match. Miwa does feel a bit slower in the exchanges though and I'm not sure if JNT's environment will ever allow her to adapt to SYS's speed.

Really encouraging match for Miwa's development. Losing the first two games like that should be a killer to confidence, but she went on to take the next two games. A few moments when she fought back from behind, like in Game 4 to take it and Game 6 to make it closer after a bad start.

Tactically, she was able to adjust and recognized when SYS was just trying to force mistakes out of her and made safer shots instead of forcing the open rally.

Miwa put tremendous pressure on SYS. She was fantastic on the long, fast rallies. I think SYS did well in game 5 to end the point quickly. Miwa serve variation and quality are also underrated. One of the best in the world I think.
