There's kind of a difference tho, Miwa spanked, while I dont know if it was Kallberg's strategy in play or not but Coton had so many mistakes it feels like he beat himself.

Hen he plays someone he has never beaten before who knows how to handle his offspeed shots, he gives up after he can't find a way in. Completely reasonable though, so far these players have been rare and extremely strong (higher ranked than he is).

Giving up is not logical to that mindset and one time out of ten the opponent has a freak out about a let chord, gets injured or just starts thinking about the argument they had with their girlfriend last night. Then you win and start the ball rolling towards beating them agaian and again.
I don't recommend giving up.

This might be Duda's best chance to get a decent amount of ranking points back after his recent early exits.

Kallberg and Lebrun are both beatable for him, hope he makes the semis at least (not holding my breath for him to beat Matsushima, who I am assuming will be his opponent).

We can agree to disagree, in the face of binary results even with different underlying scores, the paths taken to victory are not obvious and calling risk taking of a certain kind a choke doesn't realistically grapple with the dilemma. Other than ATTC 2023 and Asian Cup 2025, WYD has lost to non-teammates in every international and continental major from WTTC 2023 (Of note here is that R32 WYD 2-3 Hirano at Singapore Smash 2023 started the momentum). That's way worse than LGY.

Yea was gonna mention this, when watching his games against Tomo and Sora the match up for him just sucks, it's hard to keep his energy high when winners he'd get against WCQ are so easily handled.

It's an open question about choking - can you generally choke to a higher ranked or more established player? Yes but most of the time I am not convinced. That's my broad defense of Lin Gaoyuan, the moat legendary choker of all time.
