If you will ban zeio he also will find better things to do than post on forum all day :)
Everyone does what they want to do with their time. I spend a lot of time here too you know. In any case, please let us get back to the tournament.

He was up 7:1, what a pitty he didn't win that game... But Sora is nice to watch, I remember once I said Shinozuka is nice to watch, and *Tony*, who is no more with us, said right away, they have a new one, a leftie - he meant Sora, and I at that time didn't even know he existed... And Tony knew, shit fuck, he should come back... ;-)
Sora has been hyped up since he was like 11 or something, I'm surprised you thought that was some niche prediction...

Lind clearly has little to threaten Sora style and skill wise on any given point and even when the games might appear close Sora is not really at risk of losing for now. Big leads often don't mean much in situations like that.

Not everyone follows the entrails of table tennis but that said, Sora was a world U15 Champion already. Unfortunately watching cadets/u15s is not for everyone.

If the commentator did not tell you that Pesotska was getting coached by her mother, is there any way you could know?

Always been a fan of Pesotka's big backhand and old school looking strokes. If Zhu Yuling wasn't a backhand player she would be under much more pressure

After some rather exhaustive search, your first mention of Shinozuka can be traced back to 9/2021 but Tony was nowhere to be seen so he probably made a reply somewhere else.

Before going rogue, Tony actually thanked me once openly in a post (likely lost forever at MyTT) for taking the time to translate all these articles and interviews. Therefore, I have reason to believe "Tony knew" because he liked my post on the Matsushima family back in 2018 upon the first mention of his name by mickd who was stationed in Japan.

Regarding Matsushima, as I wrote in 9/2023, JTTA and the public in Japan and China actually expected him to reach the top after Tokyo 2020 and make Paris 2024. I wrote in 4/2019 that "Matsushima is well on his way for a 2nd-coming-of-Harimoto in the next Olympic cycle" and yet it failed to materialize all because he lost to Shinozuka at Zennihon Takkyu 2024. Even Harimoto has said it took Matsushima "a little time along the way" to get to the top.

Harimoto actually told Table Tennis Kingdom in 9/2025 that XP is the hardest player to deal with (and similarly FH-oriented players such as Aruna and AJH). Significant enough to get picked up by mainstream news.

The match speaks for itself. Taking Harimoto as an oracle is not the best way to read him.

Xiang Peng extends his 5 year loosing streak to harimoto. Just not threatening enough on attacks and rallies other than the pivot forehand to beat the stable and confident Tomo today
3-year, rather. Harimoto only had 2 wins when he made that comment about XP after WTT CS Yokohama 2025.

Like I pointed out, it was dynamic (relative) rather than absolute (static). Harimoto had 2 wins and XP had 1 at that point.

I told you in June XP has been losing a ton when you asked.

I feel there is a 3-0 match missing from the record....Oh that was just today...

And as I pointed out, the last match was a 3-0 victory. So maybe you should have pointed out that statement was likely outdated. I guess we are now left wondering whether Peng did Harimoto a favor or the Nittaku ball and tables are annoying to play with for the Chinese men...

3 MTOs on 3 occasions, 1 by Hayata at WTT CS Yokohama 2025, 2 by Hashimoto and then CY at WTT CS Yokohama 2026. A world record for Miwa?

【卓球】張本美和の相手に2度もイエローカード「またまた試合が中断されるのかと…」
https://www.tokyo-sports.co.jp/articles/-/398535

(On this day, Harimoto faced Chen Yi (China), ranked 12th. During the fourth game, when Harimoto was controlling the pace, her opponent requested a medical timeout. Additionally, Chen received two yellow cards, resulting in several interruptions to play.

In fact, a similar interruption due to an opponent's medical timeout occurred in the first round (on the 5th, at the same venue), and a similar situation also occurred in the second round of the same tournament in 2025.

After the match, Harimoto expressed her frustration, saying, "For some reason, my opponents often stop the game multiple times." While acknowledging that "anyone has the right to take a medical timeout," she admitted, "It definitely has an impact. I felt like the match was going to be interrupted again."

Nevertheless, she added, "Honestly, I've gotten used to it because I've experienced it so many times," and revealed, "I stayed calm, thinking that maybe the game would resume without interruption, and immediately started thinking about what to do with the next ball."

The Japanese ace, who is aiming for the championship, has shifted her focus and is looking ahead, saying, "I want to get plenty of rest, practice the areas that need improvement, and prepare myself mentally and strategically for the next match, just like I did in today's game.")

Unimportant question but what's that band DQ is wearing on his left arm? Seems like OJS is also wearing the same on his right wrist.

Looks like my original win percentage was cloaer to reality for Qiu over Oh than my final one. Regardless, Oh continues to evolve rapidly and wins a match that could have gone either way.

The first point of Odo vs Chen is exactly why I gave Chen a 90% chance id winning. You don't beat Chen with just power, you need some judo and mixed martial arts as well. Slim chance Odo can evolve but unlikely.
