Heard through the grapevine that he is injured, not serious enough to prevent Olympic play, but enough to prevent club and international play.

No point in playing any more events for Hugo since he may have wrapped up the #4 seed already but he might have to try to block Harimoto but I haven't done the math to be sure he needs ro play Bangkok to do so. I suspect he doesn't.

Even with this early loss for SYB, I do not believe it is even possible for Hirano to take the 4th seed at the Olympics.
There's currently a gap of 437 pts between SYB and Hirano. Unfortunately for Hirano, she has so many more points to defend. She's going to have 400 pts expiring on July 2 with only 90 points in reserve for a net loss of 310 pts. SYB has 280 pts expiring on Jun 25 but with 175 pts in reserve for a net loss of 105 pts. So Hirano will be losing 205 more pts due to expiring points. Add that to the current gap of 437, and she needs to make up 642 points. Both SYB and Hirano have 1 more tournament left, SC Bangkok. The maximum number of points you can earn from a Star Contender is 600 pts. But perhaps it's better anyways for her to use this time in training. Her 3-0 loss to Pavade is a bit troubling.
