Hou Yingchao claimed they (WH and/or MLin et al.?) have prepared a few measures for Harimoto during the live stream commentary yesterday. Will see how it turns out.
That FH step-around was the key (as in the R16 match against LJK). Harimoto really worked on his offense. He wouldn't have recovered without that FH.

Miwa's brother needs to take a page from his sister here. Don't play safe and work on that step-around. His sister blows him away.

Jorgic should get a pat on the back for getting past 2 top lefties, indeed the leading figure of the interim generation.

Oh, it meant a lot. Jorgic got those wins over those players (also Moregard) when he was top 10 between 2022 and 2023 which added weight to his WR. European table tennis was going through a transition period, during which he served as the leading figure of the interim generation (ML actually named him specifically) not unlike Ma Wenge and Wang Tao when CNT was at its weakest in the early 90s before the generation of KLH and LGL. Jorgic is like a wall that other players must scale to prove their worth, a touchstone, so to speak.

If WCQ can crush Darko and beat Tomo, we can say he is back.
I think we can say he is back now regardless of the result tomorrow.
I think its all mental with him, he's always been a bit immature (sometimes even silly) and the mental aspect is something he struggles with and still he's only 24.
I've said before that I hope the CNT would give him the arm around the shoulder that he clearly needed earlier in the season and maybe now they have.
Either that or watching LSD blitz everyone took away much of the pressure on him.
Also, in hindsight some of his losses now being in perspective were (although surprising at the time) not as bad as were made out. Truls in Olympics, Anton in FF were fair enough, Lind at CS was when he really looked in trouble.

Anyway, he has looked more content and focused this tournament and I reckon he'll take it tomorrow!

Hashimoto/Sato: ATTC 2024 WD champions? Didn't play us.

p.s. Most boring all-Japan (no pun intended) final in recent memories. Long road ahead for Odo and Yokoi. Gratz to Hashimoto/Sato for keeping table tennis a unique racket sport.

The chopping sisters might have a word or two to say about that, though Odo and Yokoi have the unfair advantage of being their teammates.
I couldn't be happier to be wrong. Sato/Hashimoto are in a league of their own in doubles. Not only the best doubles pair, but also the most entertaining by far!
