Bobrow has called Hayata the best server in the game on multiple occasions. And at that level, missing a serve is rarely if ever about just hiding.

She was very agressive with her BH and managed to cover her FH side superbly often without ceding an inch and early timing to play this FH straight.
Her YG serve also caused a lot of problems to ZYL

Still hope the JNT would drop Hina for the next big team tournament. She is basically a free rubber for Sys and Wang MY. Time to try out younger players like Odo and Nagasaki

Hina was brilliant, I'm glad to see her back at her best, and her reverse serve is a real weapon.

It is the second final for ZYL. I think she choked a little at game 4 when she was 2:1 and leading 8:4 against Hayata. It would be totally different match if she could win that game. For her age, it is not easy to play to the 7th and keep the level.

It is really weird when someone gets an 8-4 lead and you don't say the opponent choked to give away the lead but when the opponent catches up, people attribute that to choking. The match showed every game was very tight. No one had a clear upper hand and both players were adjusting to each other throughout.

Clearly I went 0-2 in predictions, overweight on pedigree and underweight on momentum. Togami and Hayata are hopefully for them both in the ascendancy. Congrats to them on a great tournament
