Horrible match by Calderano and still managed to win, I would say solely on home advantage.
Uda has been playing really well. And so has Hugo up to this point. I think putting it on Hugo's play especially after the first game is not fair to Uda.

At least my eyes did not deceive, but maybe Mount Calderano in Brazil was just a bit much. I hope Uda can keep this form, it will make the JNT much more interesting going forward.
Told you. And Uda did all that without Qiu Jianxin at the bench, whom wouldn't have approached him without reason.

On that note, Kishikawa should be fired.

In an interview with 成都商报谈资/Chengdu Commercial Daily Tanzi, Uda revealed that Qiu Jianxin started coaching him back in 5/2025. His style has started changing and his form has also improved a lot as well. He further added that Qiu Jianxin actually approached him first roughly 4 years ago, expressing his interest to see his game first-hand, but because of the circumstances, it never materialized. Aiming for the next Olympics, he thought of that again and this time he approached Qiu Jianxin to ask him to become his coach.

MS R16
Calderano WR8 (8) 1-3 Shinozuka WR30 (4, -9, -6, -3)

Kishikawa should be fired for benching Shinozuka and Uda at WTTC 2026, after their performance at the recent WTT events. Such a coward of a head coach, same as Tasei at Hangzhou 2022. Even WH had the courage to take the risk and fielded ZQH.

It's ultimately one event. We still need to see more. That said, i was pleasantly impressed with how he played throughout thr event and saw evidence of a new level.but I hope he can maintain it.

Oh I agree that Uda played well and to me he should have won. But nevertheless, Hugo, to my eyes, still played horribly and escaped only because of the home factor, anywhere else he'd have lost and rightly so.
