Well, I just play for fun and I didn't get coaching for a long time. And I am a person who makes a living with movement analysis and biomechanics of body movement. But at a certain point I realized that the coaches helped me undo bad habits and improve my strokes and that makes me have much more fun.

The color of the rubber really doesn't matter so you get the color and kind of rubber you want for forehand and backhand.

Once you play this game at a club, you will be pretty much forced to get coaching unless you have a friend who plays pretty well and is willing to coach you for free. No one who plays this game likes to lose that much, and that is all you will be doing unless you get coaching.

Eventually some playres get to a point where they will not improve so easily and focus on having fun.

Myself, I can't worry about any of that as I am lucky to play more than once a month as it is here haha.

One would think I play a lot with the pics I post on TTD, but I rarely get to play twice in a month.

And again, it all comes to the budget, because i am without any job and i have very little money that i only use it for my family and home stuff, if i have more money or get any job then i will put priorities, first to buy the racket, later if i get more money again and i feel i want to play more or improve then i can think about the coaching, but i don't think i will rush this idea any soon, maybe not even this year, but i may start with a membership which allows me to play there with members or trainers or even non members who pay per day, and i may try their once-twice per month open tournaments.

But i really hate the idea that everywhere i want to enjoy my hobby i must pay membership or whatever, before when i was in a job i was able to pay everything, but when i work i don't have time to do my hobbies or sports in weekend as i am full tired exhausted or busy with family, but i must try to arrange my life so i can do my hobbies, and i really want to get into TT again and enjoy it as before.

About winning and losing, in that university there are many students, many in different levels, so i win to some and lose to some, i remember last time i lost to 2 students again and again and won only 1 against one of them, but i played with others 6 students and i beat them all without losing one game, so i know i will face say 10 normal below average level players and 2-3 top or higher level, and i enjoy to play with all levels even if i lose, and honestly speaking, i don't want to spend money hiring a coach to train/teach me so to beat those 2-3 students, it doesn't deserve i pay to beat those, i have more important things than thinking about winning only, and i will try to find places where i can play tennis here and there so i can have more contacts.

I remember once i was going to a games center in my area, and they had one TT table, and i keep going there a lot and play a lot, and i was beaten to death and also won a lot, i remember i did play with a Chinese player, an old man, he told me that his son is in Chinese national team, and this old man beaten me in all games without one lose, i was happy because i played against one great top player, don't know if he was a top player or played with Chinese team, but his playing was in another league, i never thought to find a coach to teach me so i can beat him, i just enjoyed playing with him even i lost to him always [ i played with him 5 games only anyway].

The reason for the not so popular color of RED for Tacky Chinese Hurricane versions is that in Asia, if you are spotted using RED version of Hurricane, all the cute women in the TT center will avoid you.

Yep. And for me, really, I started playing at 44. I am about to turn 50 in less than a month. I didn't have the goal of joining the Olympics. Or being a champion. But for a long time I thought I could get good technique through just leaning the mechanics. The problem is, you have to do them thousands of times before things start improving in terms of the technique of your strokes. And when you play someone who is a recreational level player or a low to mid level club player, they really can't put the ball where they want and neither can you so, over and over again, you make these adjustments that you shouldn't and don't make the adjustments that you should and then your technique goes sideways. Where you get better at things that work up to a point but ultimately limit the amount you can progress.

Whereas, when you hit with a coach on a regular basis, he sees what you need to work on, and gets you to work on it, but feeds you the balls in a way that you can keep good form for the particular technique. So it is like hitting with a machine that can think and figure out what you need to work on. So your level goes up much faster than you would have realized.

As far as I am concerned coaching is very worthwhile, nothing is as fun as that hour or two I spend with a coach, it is a better workout than anything else, I am totally wrung out after, and it gets me better so much faster that I have much more fun when I play with guys closer to my level as a result of the coaching.

I do feel lucky though that there are a lot of decently ranked pros where I am and I know their abilities playing and as coaches. So not everyone has that kind of situation.

And, so you get it, I do coaching sessions not because I want to win but because they are fun, I like them and they help me play better so I have more fun with anyone I play with.

But for you, going to the university and just playing and having fun sounds like a good start. And you don't need more than that.

Hey, this is my recommendation to you, because of my job and what I do, I do a lot of exchanges of bodywork to help the pros with stuff that gets tight from playing and to help their hips and lower back and it also ends up helping them play better, and I do that in exchange for some lessons. But I think that I make more money than most of the coaches so I try to give them money anyway.

But with your photography, maybe you could work out a deal where you do a lot of photos to help their website and publicity in exchange for a certain number of sessions.

I will work on that if they accept it, but if not then i don't know what you will do if you are in same of my situations though.

At the end, i am not in rush for anything yet, the idea to have a coach is really great, but if can't afford one then no need to force it, you gave enough reasons about why to have the coach, we all understand and agree, but it is up to the players if they want or if they can afford, not all can drive a car or afford to have lessons or even to buy a car.

Once i have things arranged, then i will post my news or progress in my TT, i am now just keep reading and understanding until i get into it seriously, and i really hope this sport or activity can have more care or interest so i can do it more or anywhere rather than i go far and pay for it to do it or play it.

Until you get your weapon, going to university and borrowing if someone will lend. Playing for free. Once you have the ultimate TareqPhoto Table Tennis weapon of loop destruction, then you can take over the table tennis world in your area, or at least see if you can get an exchange of a certain amount of training for your work taking photos to make them look good for websites and promotional material.

If anyone still doesn't know the whole sad story, the muscle from the big companies was after me for using unauthorized Professional versions of Tenergy and Hurricane. So when they started getting close, I planted a bunch of used rubbers for them to find right by the trap door near the entrance to the secret hideout. Sometimes it is called the Batcave as a code word. So they took the bait and I pulled the switch on the trap door, and they fell, I should say slid, into the vault-septic-tank. It is almost impossible to escape from in there. And by the time they get out we will be finished producing the most lethal rubber that combines all the best qualities of all the professional versions of Tenergy and Hurricane and a method of boosting that is far superior to any previously known booster. And the only place anyone will be able to get that super pro pre boosted national provincial TenergyHurricane rubber will be directly through the secret hideout which is protected by StarWars defense systems.

Sad story, but hey, this is life, it may happens anywhere, so just get over it and keep going.

I am worried that if i get the tools and i start to play then i may not come back here to post, mostly or sometimes members register to get answers then run away, but i will keep this site as references and help and i will do my best to post here later even if i get busy.

Carl, I was inn Ur stakeout house watching those Naive fools fall for that easy trick and by the second day, they were all mellowed out and I thought they gave up. Those jokers must have wisened up and played dead to attract the sewer rats, whcih are the only thing that can sustain them. Looks like they will be kicking for another few days. Maybe if their boss is wise, he would have had the NSA go ahead and FWD them this thread and if the boss gives a dman about his crew, the'll bring a big Roto Rooter truck and some hard hats to get them out of there in the nick of time.
