I am a bit confused about some things. Perhaps they can be cleared up for me.
What caused Archo to realize he needed a racket with rubbers that could grab the ball instead of that recreational thing with rubbers with grip like ice? Was what I did really bullying? Or did I help him out in the long run?
Way back when Archo was telling slimjimmi that his spaghetti legs footwork was terrible and he needed to work on it so he could be more like Ma Long, was it really bullying that some people like me felt the need to let Archo know just how darn good slimjimmi actually is? Or was that something that helped him out in the long run?
Let me think, was getting Archo to understand that DrPaco was higher level than him rather than lower level than him really a bad thing? Was it a bad thing to help Archo know that he was not the same level as StrangeLoop but that StrangeLoop was actually was at a pretty decently higher level?
When you walk into a REAL club, see everyone playing and think you are better than all of them, only to have a dose of reality handed to you, the experience of feeling the ball quality of a higher level player ultimately is a first step in improving: to know you've never felt that before and definitely have not produced it, even if you thought you LOOKED better than the guy who is spinning the hell out of the ball--that CAN actually, in point of fact, help someone learn that there are things that are real that they can work on and improve.
Was helping Archo realize he was not brushing the ball and was instead flat hitting bad for Archo? Was that bullying? Or did it help him realize a few things he could work on and improve?
Would the forum be a better place if nobody had actually gotten Archo in check and helped him realize he could not pull the kind of things he does really like to pull?
Well, now I know. Archo, you can go back to saying anything you want. When it is crazy stuff that is out of line, and you are telling people to swing from the shoulder for extra force, I am not going to bother asking where you got your info from.
And the goon squad, the Philly Mob, the NYC Mafia....it is funny....I didn't know those were bad names other people used to characterize my behavior.
I thought Der_Echte and I came up with those and used them for a whole host of reasons including trying to get people to be cautious about trying to buy expensive counterfeit products parading themselves around as Jun Mizutani's personal Tenergy 05 (oh wait, JM doesn't use T05) or Ma Long's Personal Skyline 3 National Blue Sponge (oh, wait ML uses H3 not TG3).
I thought we used the goon squad in various ways pretending we fought and captured them. Set traps for them or, actually were them when we went to cause trouble at a TT club.
But I guess I'm wrong. I wasn't part of making up the goon squad and never realized it was about me being a bully. Oh well. Darn it. Foiled again. I'll have to go back to the secret hideout and find new people to bully.
By the way, a piece of info: when Archo posted that he had done the hook serve spaz thingy shown in the WHenzel video, Shuki and I both posted almost identical perspectives in reaction to Archo. I didn't see Shuki's post till after I posted. He couldn't have seen mine because mine was posted a few minutes after his. So it was not actually that we were ganging up. But independently, we both had the same reaction. I wonder why that may have been. Hmmmm.....Food for thought....
