Hello,

I had been wondering about buying alternate shakehand paddle but I ended up with penhold afer alternating my grip between games. I would like to try chinese rubber on my forhand and MAYBE hybrid (or tacky...) on backhand.
I have a 5 ply blade all+/off- 729 a1. I will consider buying Sanwei Fextra if I choose to buy backhand rubber too. But if I buy forhand rubber only then I will use it on my current blade with palio ak47 on backhand.

1. FH candidates (~20$ budget)
- Sanwei Target National
- Yinhe Jupiter II
- 729 Battle II

2. BH candidates (~20$ budget)
- Palio the way ?
- Big dipper?
- the same as FH ones??
- ??

I don't plan to boost any of them and I would like to not buy any rubber that is factory boosted if that effect wears off qucikly.

If you want tacky forehand I suggest Battle II or Hurricane8.
If you want a semi-tacky backhand, definitely skyline 3-60. Fast, somewhat soft semi-tacky rubber. If you want a non-tacky backhand rubber, Palio AK47 Blue or Yellow are the ones I like best.

I've been playing Big Dipper on BH and Jupiter 2 on FH for 6 months, so I might have some idea what I am talking about. Jupiter 2 is great FH rubber, but it needs boosting. Big Dipper is usable rubber on BH but it's a bit bouncy. I find 729 Bloom Spin (10$ on our favorite Chinese shop) much easier and better. I also used Sanwei Target 90 and it's good too, but Bloom Spin is my favorite.

If you are anywhere near Cracow I can give you a go with them. You will develop your own opinion about them. Otherwise I can sell you my old sheets for price of the good big kebab each.

Hello tutas_piotr ,

I was using H3N (FH) and Yasaka Rakza 7 (BH). But I wanted more control in my backhand. I switched to Yinhe Mercury II Medium hardness and I really like it after 3 practice sessions. I am getting good spin on backhand and blocks are good as well. You might try Medium Mercury II. It's $6 from aliexpress. I used to play Mercury II Hard FH and Mercury II Medium BH and I used to like that combination. You can try any combination since Mercury II is very cheap. It is light weight rubber too.

Hope it helps.

is Palio the way a hybrid or it's tensor-like? I am looking for a backhand alternative to something like Xiom Omega V Tour, or Nittaku Fastarc G-1. Preferably with less catapult, but good spin.

Kokutaku 007 Pro.Selected seems to work quite well, but I could use something a bit softer.

Kokutaku 007 pro select 38 degrees, loki rxton 3

Although a tad expensive, I’d say Genesis II M could be a suitable semi tacky backhand option.

I’m currently experimenting with 729 bloom power on both bh and fh (slightly harder sponge on fh), works well in training but I’m having trouble adapting on the bh.

You can also try Hurricane 3 or 8

When a thread like this gets woken up from 2 YEARS AGO, you guys, when you post need to look at the date of the posts you are trying to respond to. Making suggestions to someone who has not posted in 6 months without realizing you are responding to a post from 2 years ago makes absolutely NO SENSE AT ALL.

It has its value. If other people also happen to ask for that info then it will give them the info.

In your second reply you at least realized that you were answering a question that was asked to you 2 years ago. It would have been good if you made note of the fact that you were answering an old dead thread in your first reply.

Yes. In your second reply you did. Why not state in your first reply that the thread is old and you are answering not for the people who posted in the original thread?

Why not help people realize it is an old thread and they should not think they are going to help the OP who long ago, probably had his answer.

With all the people who reply to old threads because someone woke them up, if you were helping people realize that the thread is old, it would be much more helpful rather than making your first comment after it was woken up as though it was a fresh new thread.
