Attack of the Spambots

Every night I come to TTD, it seems the spam bots have taken over. What is causing this and is there a fix?

I have notified Dan. But it is totally crazy. I have never seen anywhere near as much spam accounts getting through.

Maybe make it so that new users must have say 5 posts before they can start threads.
