If you have enough time to waste here posting a dozen of time a day, you're definitely not a pro, either be it coaching, playing, owning a TT e-shop... The only pro I know here are Dan, he only posts a few times per month when TTD releases a new video, Harty and Mocker88. Harty and Mocker88 only come here to speak about blades and rubbers they're qualified enough to talk about as it's their business as TT products resellers/distributors.

If you want to see/talk with the pros nowadays it's on social medias, the FYI trilogy: Facebook/Youtube/Instagram.
You know Dan is a Primary School teacher, right (ages 4 to 11 in the UK)?

If he is getting anywhere close to the average UK salary from his TTD exploits, I would be absolutely amazed.

I really don't think "time" has anything to do with it - Dan likely doesn't post that much because being a school teacher in the UK is incredibly time consuming.

At a guess, the majority of prominent posters on not just this forum, but many online forums, are people with access to a computer whilst they are working during the day.

It's entirely plausible that professional TT players would absolutely have the time to post on here if they really wanted to..... But let's be real - What's the point for them?

Slight change of subject, but I'd love to see Dan convince the pro's he plays with (for the various reviews), to come on and do a Q and A from time to time.

Yep, 190 days a year (at least, I know it can be more, but for young age kids it doesn't get that much more), 13 weeks paid leave in 2022, and 6 hours a day at work. Compared to me: 7 hours a day at job, 5 weeks paid leave. Still, I'm here way more than he is ...

He's got time to work for TTD, I guess the academy brings some decent revenus as it got the best reputation worldwide, he also works for WTT as a commentator from time to time. So all in all I guess he gets to your average wage, maybe more considering he's got a "9 to 5" job.

Scott Devine owns a bass forum, academy, Youtube channel, in the UK and he's able to employ staff and pay them a salary for all things video shooting and editing related. As TT, electric bass is a niche, and there are way more people in the business worldwide than in TT.

another typical hijacked thread 😂
All I really asked for was a YES but of course I knew this could never happen.
After close to 1000 views we probably can say that there are no pros here but
we sure get a lot of waffle 😂

I have playing TT 5-6 times a week, but just for fun. I was a pro in different sport such as mixed martial arts. So i was giving private lessons full time, and did trainings myself 2x a day, and that’s for about a 10 years. I tried it all: working for a gym, renting my own gym. But money income was not so good really, you need to be a star to make some heavy profit from it. Now i making my own business in different area, and pretty satisfied with the results. It’s hard way to be a pro athlete, in some countries even harder 🙃

Just thought of something, can a student be considered pro ? I know someone who is a grad student, but earns his living by coaching and playing tt.

Also in the spirit of earning all income from tt… if a kid earns all their pocket money from playing tt, like “win a game against dad and get $10, win a game against mom and get $20”, are they pro?

I was cleaning spam out of the septic tank of the TTDaily website and then got chased by the goon squad and had to perform some evasive action.
Shout out if you need a 5000 thousand mile rainbow stream of piss to douse the Goonies if they are getting too close. Just like old times.

would it not be a great new feature if the OP would have a chance to either cancel or stop
his/her thread :giggle:
That would be soooo sad though. None of us could witness Der_Echte's amazing aim from Kalifornication all the way to Krooklyn hosing down the goonies with a golden stream that is steaming hot and right on target.

Der_Echte, that would come in very handy right about now. The goon squad has been chasing me all day. They say they are really pro TT players and not the janitors they are dressed up as. They say they are pros, but I think Archosaurus could make them look like totally green newbies fresh out of their grandmama's garage.

I have a feeling the chicken and beer hustle would work really well on this lot of table tennis pros who are likely suffering the most sever case of dunning kruger effect you've ever seen.

So, if you could hose them down to impede their progress for a bit, I could set up the Honey Trap with my friend Emily Ratajkowski in a mini skirt and high heels bending over a stack of real, fake, H3 National Blue sponge, to get them to fall into the new and improved trap door that leads directly to the sceptic tank under Safe House #13.

You should see some of the new breed of rats we've got down there. They have been genetically selected and modified to grow as big as a Doberman Pinscher. :)

Yes, I think the OP should be able to delete off topic comments.
I am theoretically a moderator on a Chinese forum. Chinese forums are notorious for advertising on the OP's thread.
It would be like every TT manufacturer posting on any and all questions about equipment and you know there are a lot of those threads on this forum.
BTW, in China, the OP is called the "land lord" and each post is a floor. So the 3rd post is the 3rd floor of that topic.

Anyway, as moderator I wanted to give the OP or "land lord" the right to remove "off topic" posts. I was told this isn't practical but the people that actually run the website did take my suggestions. I am a foreigner moderator on a Chinese forum so everything I want must be cleared by the powers that be. I think I am the only foreign moderator on a Chinese forum.

BTW, my company has sold $900K to China the first two months of this year. Not bad for a company of 35-40 people. Our product is used to make LiFePO4 batteries that you buy.

while there are still some stirring moments in my body , reading about the high heels , the bending over in a miniskirt, the blue sponge national H3 etc. I have to admit i am mostly interested now in the rats.
Some Korean friends told me there are great stews to be had from dogs and when the rats are as big as dogs, I am dead-keen...........meat is meat, it is the sauce after all that maked the stew 😂

I have new intel on a new crack team of goon squad members that are sort of like the green berets of the goon squads. This unit is run by Sergey Tsos otherwise known as Scoobie Doo. Scoobie has been a years long goon squad commander and is the top expert in the whole continent of North America on H3 National and H3 National Blue Sponge.

It looks like I will be in trouble if he gets on my tail and most definitely will need help from Der_Echte when that happens.

Now, the thing is, Scoobie Doo is now really going to have to join TTDaily and give the folks here some of that much needed info on the ins and outs of DHS H3 rubbers, or many TTD members, including Der_Echte and me, will have to start crying......

Does anyone remember how the Scoobie Doo song goes?

I‘m actually so fortunate to be working “with table tennis” full time for some years now 🙂

Not as a player though, but as a part time TT shop (and TT brand) employee and part time TT coach 🏓❤️
just had to quickly check what my definition was of a pro, here it is again:

Simply to satisfy my curiosity, please let me know if you are a TT-pro.
You qualify as a TT-pro if your only income is from either playing , coaching and /or sponsor support. (my personal definition for the purpose of this post)

So you might not quite qualify but you win the price anyway 🤣

Pro has 2 meanings.
1) either the level is high enough - we talking world not just national. IE whats the use if you are say top 30 in UK, but you can't even play internationally.

2) you make an income from such profession. Normally such income would be your primary income.

A student can be a pro, if his/her level is up there. Lin Yunju is a student at the moment.

The above combined is my definition of a pro player.

Pro coach is something else.
TT shop, is just a businessman/sales/marketing.

You really thought I was being serious lol

Ok then, so what about the second scenario?

If a kid is earning all his ice cream and cookies by beating the pants off mom and dad, he is definitely a TT Pro based on Lodro's definition of the term TT Pro. And since Tony obviously did not read that Lodro gave a definition of TT Pro specifically for this thread, I would suspect the goon squad is now really after him and Scoobie Doo is on the job. :)
