How did you manage to get that fracture? (Weber B ankle fracture)

I'm not an orthopaedic surgeon but I found this patient info sheet online.

All the best with your recovery!
Thanks! I got it playing soccer. We were short a person that day and we didn't want to forfeit (you get -1 point for that). We are the oldest team and have the most members so we usually have many more subs than most, so it was a big change. I ended up playing basically the entire game (had 1 more guy come in at half time, but we all needed some rest so we still played 4 v 5 on a half-size pitch). At the end of the game, I was rushing toward the goal, but the opponent got to it first so in an attempt not to run into the goal I was trying to slow down. I guess I was too tired, I kind of just relaxed my legs which caused me to slide, and the field condition sucked with high grass and uneven ground so my right leg got caught under my body. It swelled up big time immediately and I knew it was a serious injury right away.

I shoulda been in a boot and used crutches immediately like that article said, but I was back to work 3 days later with a cane, trying to just walk it off lol.

good luck with your recovery! and the D09c will be better than ever when you get back

Michael, when I see your avatar on the left side of the post, I actually see a black alien with prolongated neck and part of the head. It is disturbing. Do everyone see it too, or is it just me??? I hope you see it too, you know, because I'm now a little bit afraid. You know, what it could implicate. Perhaps my brain is f..... up, or some circuitry is crossed. So I definitely hope you see it too... Still, kind of afraid I get diagnosed soon... Anyway, at least Gozo is seriously f... too, he evidently misses the beer circuitry... Cheers and n8.

I have never visited Germany but I have visited Munchen instead. Ahhhhh.... Sausages, Saurkraut, Bier, Pretzels, leather trousers.. wonderful memories.

If I visit Germany, it would be for religious pilgrimage. Yes, I'll definitely visit the ESN shrine and fast for forty days and turn vegan with no coffee too; for good measure just to purify myself in the presence of the almighty ESN.

Gozo, of all people I thought you'd follow the heavy gravity of the 6 advantages.

Just in case you missed it: There is a smoking gun evidence that the Newtonian/Einsteinian gravity is wrong.

Put simply, gravity is actually 40% stronger than we thought. There is no dark matter! This has obviously profound implications on the table tenis, because it now slows the ball down 40% more. So, predictions:

- most pros will start using MX-PXXX by the end of 2023
- sharp increase in outer BASALT and single ply hinoki blade usage
- all TTD members without exception switch to full @Gozo mode
- no dark matter/side, LPs are completely abolished
Ha! Eat your words you slow / turtle rubber lovers! Gozo rulz!

> Mark V LOL!!!
> Rakza 7 LOL!!!

NB: Go Gozo(tm) or go home...

Getting targeted a lot in practice matches on my short forehand side and long on my backhand side. Definitely need to get better in those situations.
It's a standard table tennis tactic, you need to both learn to implement it and defend against it. In fact, when I am clear thinking and down to a lower rated player, it is my first go to, short forehand, long backhand. The second is wide backhand, down the line to forehand or wide forehand, and if I am really brave, wide forehand, backhand or wide backhand.

One of the interesting things about TT is that you learn how movements can make people who look solid fall apart. If I serve straight into your backhand, your loop might look awesome. But if I serve short forehand and then push into your backhand, you might even be fully ready but just feel uncomfortable. Gets better as long as you get used to and getting into position to play your shot.

I've tried to compensate by working in forehand loops when the ball goes off the side of the table. My forehand pushes are not good, so I end up flicking a lot. I mainly run the risk of leaving my backhand side exposed.

Long backhand feels like an option issue. Most of the serves go directly towards me vs off the side, so I don't think I move enough laterally to deal with it. Amazingly, I'm starting to move and react when going against my wide backhand.

CNT although not exclusively, drill to counter this tactic six days a week, eight hours a day. These kindergarten tactic don't work on them.

As for us amateurs, we do five minutes of FH to FH stroke, five minutes of BH to BH then 1.5hrs of game play and eight hours of browsing TT11 / Lazada / Shopee to oogle at BTY Harimoto / Ovtcharov Super ZLC etc six days a week.

In the end, our EJ skill is much more developed than even some pros.

I had similar issues, and found that the recovery resets and bouncing on the knees during serve receive to work wonders in terms of moving well to these extreme corners.

Tested out my 2 racket style at the club today haha. I haven't got the short pips yet so I'm just playing 1 side LP penhold with my left hand. Long pips is really easy to use not gonna lie. This was my first day ever using my left hand for any racket sports, and I already managed to get quite decent at it especially attacking short serves lmao. Chopblocking topspin is the real hard part especially against fast no spin balls. Nevertheless I still got a few ridiculous chopblocks in lol. The way LP is able to attack heavy backspin is insane.

Serving was hard but I managed to get the hang of it already.

I played some games with it and even won 1 game against my rather high level friend hahaha. This style produced extremely interesting strategies. For eg after a topspin attack to drive them back, I could use the left hand LP to just drop it short. The real unfair advantage imo is the short serve attacks with my left hand LP and then transition to powerlooping with my right hand inverted.

The weakness is actually the deep TPB side which is hard because I'm in the righty BH corner usually so it's quite a stretch to use left hand TPB in my traditional righty short FH. But I reckon with some practice I can make it work.

Imo this shows how unfair LPs are - this is only my 1st day using it with my off hand and I'm already ok with it. I probably would have needed like 100 days to get to this level if I started with inverted.

But you will always, forever, at the back of your mind always in doubt, always wondering:

Lol I don't care now. They can use two rackets too - it is highly difficult because most ppl aren't ambidextrous like me. It's the coolest af playing style lol and I wowed a lot of ppl at the club already. But just saying, this is only possible because of the long pips - I would be completely lost if it was inverted. I bet I can already beat some newbies with my left hand penhold LPs already without even touching my much stronger inverted side much, this is how powerful LPs are. Once I get my Spectol SP, I will actually even have a RPB (I actually played a few RPB hits with the wooden blade instinctively today, unfortunately there's no rubber there otherwise it'll be a good hit too)

My attack is still in PreK, so I gotta brush up on a few things. I wish I could drill more haha.

@blahness Split steps have helped me out a lot to cover the extreme areas. I'm a bit weary on giving a lot of topspin back cause they'll just send it straight down the line on my backhand.

Yes this is the most fun I've ever had playing table tennis in quite a while! The combos that this allows for is like unlimited. Wait till I get a hold of my SP, it'll be double the fun!
