Welcome to the dark side, again.

Hurricane is a looping magic. Nothing beats it.

However, smashing is just a problem. That's why Chinese players almost always turn their racket to the Butterfly/ESN side to smash high balls/lobs. Hurricane just sucks at smashing. You almost have to loop drive the ball, despite it being so high.
hmmmm yeah. i am still adjusting the technique. maybe i will twiddle to the dignics on high smashes/lobs. i just don't know if i should twiddle in prep for the next shot or not?

Do you mean twiddle back to H3 on FH after a smash? I did that only when I saw that an opponent was going for a counter smash/loop/something low enough to loop instead of a lob.
Instead of twiddling one can try to smash with sidespin (something like an overhead tomahawk serve) or if you like to practice even more: backspin/chop smash (this usually does not come back but is also quite risky)

yes, i meant twiddle back to H3 on FH after smash. Thanks for the tips. I'm actually pretty good and tomahawk smashes.....it's the ex-tennis player in me. i'll have to try that with the H3 and see if it works.

Yes 2 layers of booster, the rubber curled, and i waited several days for it to uncurl.

Maybe the 41d is too hard and needs more than 2 layer of booster?
41 OS usually 2 layers is good, but sometimes depend on temperature and humidity, you might need 3 or 4, and wait 72 hours to till it uncurled. Maybe you check your booster first see if it still normal.

OK, than I should have said similar to a slice serve in tennis instead of tomahawk smash ;)

H3 is pretty good at tomahawk smash. It is just not good at straight smashing head on!

Has anyone played with boosted H8-80 in 38 degrees?
I play with it with 2 layers seamoon and it feels much better than the unboosted 37 degrees variants I had before.
It is glued on the outer ALC side of my blade right now so that probably makes a difference as well, but It gives me amazing results in terms of everything.
I play it on my Backhand and my EJ drive is completely cured.

Close to the table:
Amazing control and spin.
Great short game and blocking.
Gives me security in all my offensive shots ( flicks, open up loops, punches, loops in rallies).
More than fast enough while not overshooting.
Ball always arcs down at the right time and is very hard to return for the opponent

Mid range:
Very good balance between control, speed and spin.
It is definitely not lacking in speed ( at least for me).
It has all that I need and I feel like I can handle anything with my Backhand.
It is not Calderano Backhand speed, but I am getting closer to my Fan Zhendong Backhand.

I would not have thought that it would turn out this great.
Especially considering the price and availabilty.
I might try boosted 37 degrees with 1 layer but not for now.

PS: The clicking sound when hitting is amongst the most satisfying feelings in TT

I might be going mad but is orange sponge H3N really that much more spinny and bouncy compared to the blue sponge? I can't really put a number on it but it feels like OS is 20-30% spinnier... Especially on serves, maybe even more spinny for serves.

I once bought Stiga Attach Power glue, it's basically a rebranded Finezip. If you can get that cheaper go for it over Finezip if you like it.
My problem with that Stiga glue was that it spoiled in its tube.

The DHS and Revolution and so far the Winion are great, they don't spoil at all. DHS might be the hardest to deal with out of this trio (and Winion the least possible to get) but for Chinese rubbers I find Revolution to be not that great. Revolution claims they give a boost effect after 3-4-5 layers... I don't feel it. But compared to Revolution the Winion and DHS have some boost. Or I would say Revolution absorbs energy while the other 2 doesn't as much.

When I remove the glue from a rubber Revolution is OK after a certain layers, but it doesn't stretch that much. At a "not too high" stretch point it tears. The Winion or DHS is very forgiving and I feel like with hard Chinese rubbers this forgiveness or "give" or "yield" is beneficial.
DHS No.15 glue is softer, more flexible and faster than Revolution No.3. It comes off the sponge very well. https://www.dhs-729.eu/gb/13-glue

You should look into the Sueke No2 glue. When my girlfriend bought 2 Stiga Mantra Pro from taobao the seller sent 2x52ml bottle of this Sueke glue and it is the softest glue I ever seen. It's like between DHS No15 and the german glues but it can be peeled off very easily.
It's dirt cheap too.

Yes, it can be purchased on Aliexpress. About 10 bucks for a 260ml bottle. There is a No1 version too, but I never tried that. I am so satisfied with No2 that I have 2x260ml bottle coming...

Thanks m8, i'll look into it. I have a bottle of 100ml DHS glue that i bought from my local dealer for $18. Not the most economical. Also, I messed up using it twice on my paddle by not spreading it fast enough lol. I had to peel it off and start again. the third time i finally got it down. the DHS glue was a lot easier to use on the actual rubber sponge.

Don't buy glues during winter time, it will frozen.

I recently switched to DHS #15, sooooo much better than Tearmender. Tearmender's viscosity is too low, the glue flows everywhere, and dries before I can spread it evenly. I have to glue/reglue at least twice every time I have to glue something with Tearmender.

DHS #15 is much thicker, allowing me to carefully spread it across the rubber/blade without spilling over the edge, then vertically spread it many times until even. When I'm satisfied with the spread, it'll blow dry in a few seconds. When I need to switch rubbers or re-glue, I can rip it off easily. The rubbers stay on the blade pretty well too despite me sealing all my blades with polyurethane.

Yup DHS #15 is the best, though for glue AliExpress seller uses different type of delivery and it's around 1.5 months of waiting time...

Tried Skyline TG2 Blue sponge 39 degrees boosted with 2 layers of seamoon today. It's like TG2 comm. OS but better in every way - more consistent, I feel more confidence playing with it, spin is the same or a little less (plenty enough).

That was my student's training though, so I wasn't playing many top spins myself, will journal more feedback here when time comes, may be in video format even.
