It is good they felt that way. Most of us know that Han Ying is almost unbeatable the first time you play her so good luck to Shin with that plan and putting it all on the shoulders of a 17 year old at the Olympics.
Realistically the only way for Korea to win that match was to win doubles + solja + SXN. They gave away their X vs. C advantage in the deciding tie with that lineup. CHJ/SYB was a perfectly viable doubles that brought them through the entire Olympic qualification tournament but they decided to go overkill by pairing JJH with SYB.

Szocs 1-3 Ito (-10, 7, -11, -12)
Good thing Ito is not going to Paris. Such an eyesore. No growth for the past 4 years. Just a reshuffle of old tricks.

To be fair, if they felt Shin was great vs defense, they felt she was great vs defense. But Choi Hyojoo being clueless against short pips blocking... well it is what it is, SXN was a beast in her day.

Hayata/Hirano/Harimoto/Ito/Odo for ATTC 2025 2024 and Asian Continental Stage for WTTC 2025?

Who's going to play WD? Ito/Hayata has "retired". Hirano/Harimoto doesn't work. Hayata/Hirano or Hayata/Harimoto, and Hayata/Odo or Hirano/Odo or Harimoto/Odo?

I think you can pair Hayata with anyone, but I think Hayata/Hirano is probably the strongest pairing.

Speaking of Asian Championships, looking at the schedule, it looks like the China Smash (9/26-10/6) is immediately followed by the Asian Championships (10/6-10/13) even overlapping a day. That looks like poor scheduling between ITTF/ATTU and WTT.

According to the information at JTTA, this will be the first time the individual and team editions are held separately. ATTC 2024 is the individual edition. Seeded players will likely start on the 2nd or 3rd day.

※アジア選手権大会は2024年大会より、次期世界卓球選手権大会の予選を兼ねることとなりました。
※そのため、これまで2年に1回7種目の開催から、隔年開催で個人戦と団体戦に分かれて行われます。

Looks like SYB and Honoka Hashimoto both have the same birthday, July 5. They face each other in the WS SF.

And it's now Hina's turn. Born July 7, 2000; she is now 24. Happy Birthday, Hina Hayata!

Feels like there's a good chance Ito will win this tournament if Shin loses her SF considering the former is good at playing choppers. That will be wild.

FWIW, Hashimoto took Mima Ito to 7 games the last time they met at the 2023 Nojima Cup. If it comes down to Mima vs. Honoka, although I'm a fan of both, I want Honoka to win the championship.

SHW 0-3 Ito (-10, -4, -4)

MS SF
Harimoto 3-1 LYJ (-9, 3, 5, 8)
G1 97, 911
G3 44, 104, 105, 115
G4 13, 43 TO for LYJ, 73, 74 TO for Harimoto, 104, 108, 118
LYJ couldn't hit past Harimoto. Most kill shots got sent right back. Could've been a straight-game defeat.

that's what makes the different, Harimoto can use defense shots to his advantage while Uda and most other JPN players struggle in this area. Beside, he has improved his forehand immensely in this string of tournament to close the loophole
