ITTF World Cup Winner Announced

Hey guys

So this morning GMT the ITTF announced the winner of the World Cup Competition. I would deeply love to say right now that it was me/TableTennisDaily that has won the competition, but I'm sad to say I haven't. I am struggling to write this message as that competition meant so much to me, the prize money would have transformed the website and I would have made the best reportage in Paris 2013. However, congratulations to the winners and everyone who took part and thanks to the ITTF in conducting such a great prize competition.

So I just want to say, thanks so much for everyone who voted for me along the way. Without you I would have never got into the top 5. I will continue to give my absolute best in the table tennis world and making sure fresh content is sent to you guys instantly. I have many ideas and new interfaces that will be coming on TTD for 2013 which will be amazing! I hope you all still enjoy the site, anything you would like to see made for improvements on this site, let us know ill happily make it happen

Yup Dan, U R right in your assessment inferring something along the lines of DRUNKEN MONKEYS smoking opium pipes lit from red-hot glowing fireplace pokers must have decided the outcome in an entirely unfair and random manner having ZERO common sense judgement.

You done caught a real bad break after coming back with a new reworked video squaring away the rights issue to get back into top 5 after resting teh voting to zero, but I know you will bounce back with sum LULZ soon.

I thought that the video:

A Hard Day's Practice,

was the only good one besides Matt's and yours, Dan. And I was sort of disappointed that Matt got bumped from the top 5 in the final 12 hours of the competition. Matt spent 12 hours short of 30 days in the top 5 only to get bumped right on the last day of the competition.

But both of you made very good videos. So, congratulations are still in order.

Getting bumped means getting knocked out of from prior position. Sometimes that means getting totally knocked out of something or a position altogether.

The video in question was in place 5 (someone else's video). Another video received enough votes to overtake that place 5 video, thus BUMPING that vid to place 6.

That was it. With 2 days to go Matt Heatherington's video was in 3rd place. With one day to go, his video was in 5th place. Within 12 hours of the close of voting Dan's video overtook Matt's and Matt was in 6th place and out of the running while Dan's moved up to 5th place. Only the top 5 spots were in the selection for the winning video. I was hoping that Dan and Matt would both be in the top 5.

Thanks for your support Carl, as I said to Dan I spent my time reflecting on the competition and then I made a decision to refocus and move on to bigger and better things and have so far been doing well in that light. I'm glad the ITTF are presenting these opportunities but unfortunately I don't see how the winning videos will make any effort to help promote table tennis at all.

Thanks for your post Matt, I like your enthusiasm. I have taken the same thought of things to. I have left that behind me and now focusing on TableTennisDaily. Once again I apologise for overtaking you at the very last minute, I just wish it showed how much we was voted. This would of made it easier for us to see what actually went on in that voting system.

Hey you don't have to apologise dude, you had a big setback after you made your entry with the sound issues, regardless of when it happened your video always deserved a place in the top 5 and you got there. The fact that we were both in the mix just goes to show that people appreciate how much effort we put in, I like the think our votes were a little more meaningful than the others

I'm looking forward to 2013 and as always I have plenty more projects in the wings.
