I just had a peek of those on ig yesterday and seems like there’s gonna be new xiom blades coming up soon. Is xiom trying to develop the TMX material to get better? An Jaehyun was using w968 across the entire world championship tournament recently instead of his TMXi lol

Looks like it, I currently LOVE the Cho Daeseong TMX Pro right now.
Compared to viscaria, it feels like an amped up viscaria. Add in the extra headsize and its forehand beats out viscaria.

The TMX LSS should be interesting, Would like to see the difference between it and tmx outer.
The head size’s gonna be smaller compare to cds tmx pro but the same as regular tmx outer. I really like the look of AJH tmxi pro. fun fact : I actually asked xiom via dm on ig why AJH is using a w968 instead of his personal blade (TMXi) and said there were some error occurred before the competition regarding his personal equipment and was forced to use a w968. But he’ll be using his own blade moving forward in the future competition.

Yup Im just interested to see how much a blade can change with same materials and composition.

I noticed that xiom tends to use a lot of vibrant colors in their apparels as well as blades which is not very common compare to other brands.

Thickness/density of the composites, directionality can all make a difference. While the thicknesses look pretty uniform, do we know for sure the composition is the same? The Hugo TMX and TMX LSS look like the blade surface has less visible wood grain compared to AJH/CDS blades. Combined with the blurb mentioning “rich sensation” I actually wonder if they have hinoki outer plies.

That sounds fishy. Why wouldn't he have multiple TMXi's as backup? Even the more hardcore EJs on this board get a backup blade lol, though mostly to try out different rubbers.

I have no clues. But I saw in a clip during the training before the actually competition, he was using TMXi. Left me curious as well

Anyone have an idea on the Xiom blade with Xiom rubbers combo? Probably premature question as there is a whole new line of rubber coming up with Omega VIII and Vega Pro H etc.
Butterfly has a guide where for example, Inner Carbon blade Harimoto - D05, FZD ALC Outer Carbon - D09c FH, D05 BH.

Update because relevant, AJH was using GEWO edge tape during current 2024 Asian Championsships in Astana. What did I miss LOL. Also, it seems like he is still using W968

Was literally just looking at the spec differences between the HAL & Hugo TMX Pro. Seems like his new blade will be a lot faster than his previous ones. Which leads me to believe I need to buy a HAL before they’re all gone, because it seems like the perfect step-up from an all-wood blade for me (when Im ready).

Will be interesting to see how these new blades differentiate themselves since they all seem to be using the same fiber & construction.

Read from another thread that the contract between Xiom and AJH has ended when he breached a term in it. Not too sure of it though. I liked his game and hoping for the best for him.

A lot of Xiom players in particular and non-Butterfly/DHS sponsored players breach their contract still in 2024, only a few unlucky ones get caught.

I used to be an EJ and kept up with all the newest blades introduced by many brands. Now I don't EJ anymore, but based on my previous experience with Xiom, they are the fastest brand to discontinue their products. At least in the first 2-3 years of their existence.

I miss their Aria, Jazz, Solo, etc.

Now they have many varieties of composite blades: SAL (even this has been discontinued) and HAL, TMX types, Ice-cream types, 36.5 types, Hayabusa, etc.

A bit confusing for me, who has not kept up with the newest development of blades anymore.

But I admit that they are very good looking and colorful.

There are other Korean brands: NEXY.... What's up with them? Have not heard anything from them lately.

Yes you're right there, they do discontinue their products quite quickly, and stock/availability was often an issue for dealers. They're certainly not the only ones that do this, which is always so disappointing if you find something that you really like!
