Speaking of North Korea, what happened to Kim Song I? She probably could have closed out WYD/SXY during the QF.

Most players who did well in 2016 have retired now. No one at their peak then is at their peak now.

Suh Hyowon did ask about Kim Song I at the Asian Games, but if even SK media doesn't know it's hard to tell given how isolated NK is.

To be fair, Kim Song I didn't strike me as someone who had significantly good results outside of that spectacular Olympic performance. Choppers started to fall off significantly after Rio when Japan figured them out.

nah, dumb ahh Taiwan coach can't even take off his hat to see the flow of the match. It's clear that in set 3 and 4 Wang's ball quality has risen and the original strategy of suppresing the back then go for the forehand kill doens't work any more. He should've called TO for Lin at 10-8 but dude decided to save it for the fifth as if Lin wasn't the underdog.

Lin rejected the time out call from the coach

For those unaware, ISEKI Seiko/Wei Qingquang is the coach. He should read my thread "The Art of Calling Timeout".
I guess you know better than actual pros, coaches and players
What make you think he didnt call the timeout?

Maybe you must come and play or coach first and then publish your book

Considering how stacked the schedule is plus prior commitments I doubt the top countries prepared much or at all. They are thrown into cold water. That being said it shows how well players can adapt on the spot, though.
yep
you play some doubles, and then back to play a teams match.
I never really liked this kind of scheduling.

I prefer you finish teams, then moved to doubles then singles, or something like that.

but they choose to mix different events on the same day, and then you have many matches too.
thats life for pros during some weird tournament that can just shorten days on the start of the tournament, due to poor scheduling.

連插你都嫌嘥口水。

Here is a paper from 2007 by a former TPE player on a coach failing to call timeout in a similar situation (final of an international competition, leading 2-1 in games and going from 7:5 serving to 7:9, meltdown in G5). The reason? That coach had no clue when to call it when asked why after G4.

桌球比賽暫停時機重要性之探討
https://ir.lib.cyut.edu.tw/bitstream/310901800/6786/1/桌球比賽暫停時機重要性之論述--大專體育2.pdf

yeah, and with that you an expert on the matter?

I'm going to have a meeting with U19 WR3 (winner of Doha feeder) and his coach now.
will educate you more on the matter with you later if I have some free time.

It is clear why CNT puts so much resources into preparations. But maybe that is a problem too?

I like Shasha, but what I am about to say may be harsh for her, but welcome to the real world like the rest of us.

Ie. many players get match balls to “get used to” on the eve of the tournament.
So, she can’t really blame the ball, but rather she needs to learn to adapt like the rest of the world.

And this is why a 1 Bundesliga player told me about the good of playing in leagues, every home match uses different tables and different balls, so you can only learn to adapt few hours before the start of the match.
Just a preset question launched by the interviewer, and SYS answered it, then she got this news headline. The magic of Journalism.

Looks like they didn't field Lin Gaoyuan for Men's singles even though they had him for men's teams. It is WCQ, LJK, LSD. XP and XYB.

What i also find interesting is that it is too late to replace SYS and WYD team with WYD and SXY. I wonder whether they would have done it if they could have.

The draw is really unforgiving with all the tough players. Hong Kong #2, #3 and #4 have shown they are dangerous quantities as well. Sathiyan is already out to PRK. And PRK is also facing troubles when it faces top teams unseeded. I love this tournament! So deep with landmines. sharp stones and hungry sharks and piranha everywhere.

Anyone notice ATTU Live Youtube channel doesn’t stream any of the matches when China is playing at ATTC 2024.

Any reason why that might be. So far every match that China plays theres no broadcast on ATTU Live Youtube channel.
For some matches yes, but this is not universally true. It was noticeable for the finals and semis but wasn't the case in the earlier rounds.

Yea, semi and finals they did not show any of the games that China was playing both mens and womens team. I had to watch it from a different youtube channel instead.

Today they didn’t show Xiang Peng singles game in one of the smaller tables.

Let’s see if they will show the matches that China is playing later today but I have a feeling they will not broadcast those games as well. I think Wang Chuqin and Lin Shidong matches are on later today.

No information on why ATTU Live Youtube channel is not broadcasting some games particularly those games where China players are involved.

I like to think they don't even know themselves which matches they are streaming.

EDIT: am I blind? Miyu and Miwa are playing next to Odo/Yokoi, but I don't see it on any livestream.
Chen Xingtong and Kuai Man are playing right now but when I go to the official stream Table 2 it’s showing a different game instead.

At least it ain’t just China players but looking at Miwa/Miyu they are playing against Chinese Taipei. Maybe when China and Chinese Taipei play no stream available on ATTU live Youtube Channel.

Seems like that's not 100% the case because you can see a Taiwan pair on table 1 right now. It sucks we are missing out on matches because they don't post individual matches or highlights.

EDIT: I spoke too soon. Stream died on table 1 and you have to watch it via CBA.

Table 1 is Lin/Lin China live right now but on actual Table 1 feed on ATTU Live channel showing Jeon/Shin game which is already finish.

They are purposely not showing the China matches for some reason. This can’t be a coincidence. So far no matches that have China playing today have been shown live on ATTU Youtube channel.
