JJH touches on KNT and North Korea team's relations, saying that they used to be close and even hung out in the same hotel rooms together, but don't even greet each other anymore since North/South relations became tense after covid. She also gives praise to SYB for being grounded despite her celebrity status and to Hayata for being hardworking.

WD SF
KM/CXT 0-3 Odo/Yokoi (-10, -11, -9)
Harimoto/Kihara 3-0 A. Mukherjee/S. Mukherjee (4, 9, 9)

Total collapse for CNT in WT/WS/WD.

Yokoi did a great job of reining in Odo when the latter lost herself in the heat of the moment.
Is Ma Lin's job in danger?
Frankly, Ma Lin as a player had a very tricky and complicated game tactics that demanded a great control and feeling that most women player just don't have. Maybe that is the reason his on site coaching didn't seem effective. Perhaps, CNT should consider inviting Kong Linghui back to coach the women team. As a player, Kong's playing style (quick backhand drive and exchange plus solid forehand) wasn't far from the modern female style.

I know you're joking about this a bit but there's a lot of truth in this.

When they got eliminated against the Koreans yesterday, Harimoto had to constantly try to motivate and pump up a very frustrated and deflated Sora. He was being the cheerleader in that pair and it was pretty funny to see.

I guess he's usually the younger one in the pair and he feels the need to act the part of senpai now with Sora. It's an encouraging sign of maturity, especially since the day before he was completely burnt out during the men's team match with HKG.
I noticed how quiet he is when he plays with Tomokazu. Seems strange when he is pretty vocal otherwise.

In LSD vs. Shinozuka match, the second game went to distance after deuce and ended at 18:16. Who came at the top of the grounding? No surprise, it's iron-willed LSD. Seems LSD has got himself into a good habit of winning the gut-wrenching battles. Good for him.

Is Oh the same Korean player who gave LSD all the trouble at WTT Almaty final and forced Lin to come from behind from game score 1:3? Interestingly, LSD repeated the feat at China Smash final against Ma Long.

Here's a shot of the serve ace he got to win that 18:16 game. He's definitely got a way of willing himself to victory with his service game!

Yeah most players are resorting to illegal serves these days. In amateur circuits, it is even way worse with the serve cheats who use hiding and no toss techniques to hide their inability to master the true art of serving like a magician.

Kim is very slick. There were times she played at full speed like Miwa and then she chose moments to slow it down just a bit to break the pace and force mistakes. Really made Miwa second guess herself and it resulted in a ton of misses on balls Miwa usually absolutely crushes. That's usually the strategy for pips players but Kim is different since her top gear and reactions are just as fast as the top attacking players.

Bummed for Miwa after all the work she put in to battle against the CNT members. But credit to Kim for understanding her opponent's patterns and exploiting them.

Saddest person today is Gozo? Double inverted Miwa losing to pips is a double whammy. Nevertheless, one gold and two silvers is a historically amazing achievement in itself.

Between He Zhoujia, Mukherjee, Kim Kum Yong, safe to say that Miwa still isn't comfortable against long pips/anti. Wonder how Mima would have fared against Kim. She needs to set a date with HZJ and Kim ASAP and win to give herself a USP on the team.
