Tieba users have talked plenty. See for yourself.

The old Togami showed up in G2.
nah, it's the old Togami for the whole match, three first set he started overwhelmingly with at least a 3-4 point lead but then just get out of steam by the later stage (2 set point in 1st, a set point in the 3rd and a 9-5 lead in the 2nd). Luckily his rally skill was sharp today so we had a bunch of highlights, but other than that, still that same:
- Bad receiving/pushes
- Backhand overhit when Liang applied spin and arc to the ball
- Monotonous serving strategy, but to be fair Liang was passive against Togami's long serve.

It's the closest of Togami to have his 1st win over Liang but he just had to f himself up over silly mistakes

We'll likely get the Lin vs. Lin match up for the 4th time (?) in like 2 or 3 months now.

LSD vs LYJ - All won by LSD.

So far LSD has been having the run that WCQ was having last year and earlier this year, just winning everything - especially with FZD, WCQ and ML not playing regularly.

There are also more Re-matches from recent times:
Harimoto - Kallberg
Truls - Alexis/Jorgic
Felix - XP
LYJ - Groth

Most Japanese comments are quite reserved and optimistic about Togami's future but there are the odd ones that cut to the chase and point out the problems.

The timing of TOs in Japan's bench is always too late
I've never seen it done successfully, so I hope they learn from it soon

一生懸命強い球を打つだけじゃ勝てないよなぁ。ミスしてるように見えてるけど違う。中国選手にはいつも回転量とタイミングと弾道に変化をつけられてやられてる。
You can't win just by hitting the ball as hard as you can. It may look like a miss, but it's not the same. Chinese players always change the amount of spin, timing, and trajectory of the ball.

日本の男子頑張らないと張本以外が育ってない
この人もミスが多い………
2セット目あんなにリードしといて逆転
されて、全て同じようなパターンのミスばかり
The Japanese men need to work hard, otherwise no one other than Harimoto will improve
This dude also misses a lot...
Had a big lead in the 2nd game, but was overtaken
All misses had the same pattern

Great 3-0 win for Odo over Hirano! Odo has had the skills to beat Hirano, but could she handle the mental pressure of beating a top Japanese player on the international level who she'll be competing for an Olympic spot? The answer is undoubtedly yes. Her great results playing doubles with Yokoi will also be a bonus for that coveted 3rd spot.

This match shows the difference between Hirano and Hayata - knowing when to give up before a certain threshold that could lead to injury (other than the time when she had to secure better seeding for Paris 2024). She tried in G1 but gave up afterward (when was the last time you saw a chopblock from her?)

As for Odo, she peaks completely at the wrong time.

I commend your creative spin.

And how funny he said this thread was dormant (when in fact pongfugrasshopper bumped it up before he started his own), just because he chose to ignore the OP and hence couldn't see it anymore.
Yeah, i have lots of people on my ignore list and I still see their posts and threads. They are just flagged as ignored member and I can still choose to look at them or not.

That's harsh of them. Harimoto might be the only player now on FZD level in completeness. Everyone needs to do hard work to even get a shot at them.
I fact FZD needs super hard work to be at Harimoto level, so I don't know what these people are smoking. They can send some of it🌚

I doubt any of these players will improve anymore. They are lucky if they don't get injured and start to slide downwards.
