Since when did Kallberg change his name to Shallberry?

Why do commentators always have a thing about pronouncing every name under the sun wrong? First he called him Chalber and now this. I'm overreacting but come on, I can't be the only one that gets annoyed when he calls Anton, Shallberry.

punch his name into Google Translate and hit de pronunciation button and it says so
I'm not Swedish, and neither is the announcers. Maybe it would be less annoying if they didn't try to replicate that accent.

i see you are going through the 4 stages of shellberry...

1. why are they saying shellberry? isn't it Kallberg?
2. let's find the correct pronunciation! it's definitely NOT Shell-berry
3. here we go! found a Swedish speaker. they are confident it's not Shell-berry
4. "Shellberry"

If You sy it "Shellber" its rather close. The ending "j" is pronounced like a consonant "Y" (like in You). I cant think of an english word with this ending. A "Y" in the end of a word is pronounced like the wowel.

Is it pronounced like Shellberj then (with a German "j")? With a very soft j, as opposed to the very long and emphasised y you would get in Shellberry.

From a quick look up, we should pronounce Göteborg a bit like Yöteborj?

I have always found the complaints that it isn't Shellberry to be pretty pedantic. Though Shellberry isn't technically correct, it is much closer than many of the people who complain assume.

What is the big deal? Almost every Asian name is murdered by the announcers except maybe Adam B. who tries to speak correctly.
Yeah, why do they spell "Lin Yun Ju" (Taiwan) like that when the pronunciation is something like "Lin Win Ru" (according to how Adam says it).

Sometimes Korean names are even harder to guess correctly from the spelling.
