I don't see it as a Chinese Malaise really but more a case of the world catching up.Big malaise affecting the Chinese top players right now. Perhaps the extensive WTT commitments are just too arduous for them. They just didn't want their season extended so long. Or is there some other explanation for their loss of form and motivation?
Yeah, I've seen them live in a Feeder in the Czech Republic a couple of months ago and they just were levels above. And at some point the event looked like chopping training grounds for the Chinese, because there must have been like five Chinese defenders. Man, I've never seen so many expedite matches in my life, including one starting at 3:3 game two, if I remember correctly. Maybe I'm exaggerating, but it was crazy early. You just cannot find this level of entertainment value from choppers anywhere in the world including China.

It actually is a culture thing. Many Chinese indeed don't believe in fat-shaming because to them there is no shame in being fat. My Chinese relatives are extremely careful in being polite but regularly comment on people's weight.Dude, Chinese people don't believe in fat-shaming.
Or put another way, they think fat-shaming is an excellent idea. All kinds of shaming are pretty much okay.
So please stop shame-shaming Zeio. It's offensive to his culture.
Your comment is quite paternalistic and sexist. Nobody seems to take any issue with FZD being called "little fatty" or LJK being called "big fatty", but comment on SYS's love handles and that's a no-no? Does that mean women should care more about their appearance than men? That they should feel more shame about gaining weight than men? Is that what proper manners and social decorum is?Ah Zeio. Why am I not surprised....
its just not really cool to comment about women's physical appearance and weight.
Its crass and classless, but you just do you.
As for the assertion that you are correct to do this and that western social problems could be solved if we all ignore proper manners and proper social decorum.....that's absolute £#&!@x!
Anyway, we move on...
Fat shaming is getting quite common in China due to the crazy skinny girl trends rising on Douyin and other social media. They obviously won’t tell you that you got fat in your face but they’ll insinuate it and talk behind their back. But commenting on being too slim especially for men is indeed rather concerning for them instead of being a complimentIt actually is a culture thing. Due to the long and frequent histories of famines in China gaining weight is actually historically considered something to be proud of. If you've ever sat on a table with a Chinese person (or other Asians too) with his grandma, you'll see her stuffing his plate with an obscene amount of food, even if he's a fully grown obese adult with diabetes. Commenting to someone that they've lost weight is often a display of concern, and they're often followed by comments about how they need to work less, worry less, rest more, etc.
Here, @zeio is commenting on her weight as a matter of fact, it's a commentary on her athletic fitness. To consider it offensive because she's a woman suggests that a woman, or anyone really, should feel shameful due to something related to her appearance and weight, and that's both superficial and sexist.
No it's notYour comment is quite paternalistic and sexist.
I don't recall anyone calling FZD anythingNobody seems to take any issue with FZD being called "little fatty" or LJK being called "big fatty", but comment on SYS's love handles and that's a no-no?
You want me to answer these questions?Does that mean women should care more about their appearance than men? That they should feel more shame about gaining weight than men? Is that what proper manners and social decorum is?
That's certainly one thing @zeio and most Chinese probably wouldn't like to see being imported from the westFat shaming is getting quite common in China due to the crazy skinny girl trends rising on Douyin and other social media. Have you not heard Adam Bobrow calling FZD "little fatty"? He got that from CNT fans belovingly calling him by that nickname. No it's not
I don't recall anyone calling FZD anything
You want me to answer these questions?
You dreamt them up so why not answer them yourself? I didn't say or imply any of the rubbish you've written there. Perception is an individual thing eh, maybe have a look at yourself in the mirror, metaphorically speaking of course, unless you want to misconstrue that also.
Go calling the female athletes fat if you want, I don't care how much of an idiot you make yourself look...
Also, LJK’s nickname is 大胖 which literally means big fatHave you not heard Adam Bobrow calling FZD "little fatty"? He got that from CNT fans belovingly calling him by that nickname.
You should open your mind to cultural differences. There exists a world outside of your cocoon where being fat or skinny can just be a matter of fact and not a stigma.

Oh I see, so you consider the Chinese culture to have crappy moral standards? Let it all out my man, don't hold that racist inner self back. Maybe your superior white compatriots can go invade them and colonize them for a few hundred years to civilized them.Right...
And because of Zeio calling the woman fat and commenting on her 'handles' I have a closed mind. Go back to sleep dude, you're contributing nothing here.
There's a difference between a nickname earned as a teenager and someone's own perspective of things in here, which is what I was calling out. Its Zeios opinion, not her nickname. And just cos some countries have crappy moral standards doesn't mean we all have to have them. Keep your shitty opinion to yourself is a good idea everywhere.
Or call people whatever you want and see how it works out. Go to China and call SYS fat and let me know how it goes?
Or why not go and study sociology and the development of male and female teenagers and tell me which are more succeptible to negative emotions and how that measures up against the pressures of society in China and the West?
No, better you and Zeio keep it all on the internet cos you know it flies in here without any consequence.
So in summary, I won't be lectured that it's fine to call female professional athletes fat just cos some male pubescent mind thinks its ok to.
Do it if you want, nobody here can stop you, but it's a little bit cowardly and shitty. End of.
Based on your assumption that its ok in china to throw such comments around then yes, that's a crappy moral standard. And saying that doesn't make me racist.Oh I see, so you consider the Chinese culture to have crappy moral standards? Let it all out my man, don't hold that racist inner self back.
Fine, truce then, back to the tournament.Based on your assumption that its ok in china to throw such comments around then yes, that's a crappy moral standard. And saying that doesn't make me racist.
I think it's a crass comment, and the follow up was equally crass.
You think it's fine.
Ok then.
