I TESTED MA LONG’S ACTUAL TABLE TENNIS BAT!

I’ve recently set up star national ma long hurricane rubbers FH and BH on no 2 player edition w968. Unless you’ve got Chinese technique with the full arm swing, the blade is exhausting and rarely did I over hit the ball. The spin/quality is the highest I’ve experienced, higher than do9c and d05, and opponents said they can feel the top spin ball dig into their blades when blocking. It takes a strong impact to activate the blade, a 100% shot with full body weight transfer into it. Any shots without an active stroke will sink into the net but you have full confidence if you hit with all your power the ball will still land on the table. It’s a forehand monster, gave me the feeling I could not miss on forehand attacks and I found I was more consistent but backhand is a weakness. Without perfect technique you will struggle on backhand compared to a viscaria type blade, due to its centred balance. It’s a very head heavy blade. The blade is currently in storage now. Unless you’ve got access to a coach to teach you proper Chinese technique I would not recommend the blade. A viscaria is more suitable for 99% of people on this forum opposed to hurricane long 5.

the moral of the video is that just chose whatever blade that make you feel comfortable, but I wonder, although ZJK said that he used only normal looking blade, but is his Viscaria really normal or they are custom made ?
Custom. That's why there is no serial number on them, because they are not for commercial purposes

Interesting how you have a wildly favorable review on it now, but when you reviewed boosted hurricane before it was not a good rubber. Is there something different significantly different about Ma Long's racket specifically than when you had reviewed hurricane 3 neo boosted?
Back then he tried hurricane 8. Hurricane 3 is a vastly different rubber, especially when it's the blue sponge and it's boosted by a professional in the right way.

How on earth have you managed to get the man’s racket in your hand and NOT had him at the other end of the table 🤣 lifetime opportunity there 🤓
Maybe he didn't want to use Dan's racket?

Agreed. The national W968 is not even on par with what Ma Long is using. Olympic stars like Ma Long can request the highest quality from DHS.

Don't forget, Ma Long had changed his blade many times, more than all other grand slam winners. Thinking back, Violin, Boll ALC, Hurricane Long, Long 2, Long 3 than W968.

You can tell Ma Long has a pretty high standard for his blade. I am not surprised if his W968 is specially made to the highest standard possible.

Hey guys so somehow I landed myself in a very surreal situation, Ma Long let me try his "actual" table tennis bat at the recent Waldner Cup!

It was a crazy experience trying it out also whilst having a practice with the one and only Jan Ove Waldner! At the end, Ma Long then trained with 2x Olympic Champion Chen Meng!

Enjoy!

Please, review the boosted Hurricane 3 Neo (blue national/personal version) paired with W968.
We are craving for the video!

His main advantage is that he gets to select what he likes (if he doesn't like what it does, he doesn't have to pay to change it, and they send him quite a few) while we just take what we buy. But the point is that there is nothing special about the manufacturing tolerances vs what we get. Obviously we might enjoy what he uses. But that is because he is a good chooser not because the blade is specially manufactured.

Pretty sure that is no chinese technique.
it's is, i was taught this stuff. If you can't spot the differences between European and Chinese forehand technique you should search on google for information. In short, Chinese techniques suit their rubber. If you gave Ma Long tensor rubber he will blast the ball out of the table due to the high throw of this kind of rubber. And if you wonder what is the proper Chinese techniques, see Wang Liqin's forehand.

(straight arm sounds weird, i think you mean relaxed arm. and what is a forearm snap anyway?)
1738072239890.png
yeah, relax your hand and make it drop down naturally will make a straight arm like this.
Forearm snap is like bending your arm suddenly at the moment of contact with the ball, to generate more spin using your elbow
same as i was taught and i am european.
Oh you don't need to be Chinese to learn Chinese's Forehand
Top European players like Truls Moregard and Felix Lebrun also have relaxed arms when executing topspin

and they are not blasting balls past the table with european rubbers, so no idea what made You think ML would when he already plays with heavly boosted rubbers
they don't use soft sponge tensor rubbers like others I meant, which is very high throw. Truls use DNA Platinum XH- 52,5 deg and Felix uses Tibhar Hybrid K3-53 deg compared to 45-47 deg Tenergy in your mind.
and how did you know that Ma Long rubber is heavily boosted?
