I recorded myself PT 2

There's a thread in here somewhere for people to post their games and only verified members can respond to the video.
Gozo was only joking so it might be better to post there to avoid further jokes being mis-received.
I don't know the thread name exactly but I'm sure someone can find it for you.

BTW, I can't view the video. Have you taken it down, or made it private?
So you mean to say... I FELL FOR THE RAGEBAIT???

Ps. It should work, as did with everyone else...

No. I'm not saying that at all.
Gozo was joking I'm sure. Nobody was baiting you

It says I don't have access and to request access 🤔
Anyway, sounds like a problem at my end if working for everyone else

Bump: added another video where I am playing much more seriously (multiball 1 2 3)
Is the second video from the link a match?

Anyways, as far as the first one goes (the multiball), its really not bad! You move to the ball (not perfectly, but you do move without reaching), and the stroke is fundamentally correct. However, I think your acceleration is a bit low, and out of sync. What I mean by that is that your legs seem to rotate correctly with the upper body at the beggining of the stroke, but later when the ball arrives, your shoulders rotate back first, and then the legs. All the body parts should move in one tempo so to speak.

And the low acceleration is just something you need to feel. It basically means "loading" during your backswing, and then "exploding" during the contact, but its really hard to explain, especially over text... Maybe someone will do a better job at it than me.

No, I was just 'goofing around'

What great advice! Thank you for the help man. Btw, though this is the latest multiball video I have, it's still a few weeks old (start of Feb)

Yep I get it, I think I'm starting to do it in training (as I said the video is a few weeks old)

Again, thank you for the help!

No worries, happy to help! Also, I forgot to mention, kudos to you for keeping the penhold grip alive!

My recording

In the video I am using a Yinhe T8s, Joola Rhyzen ZGR (Black, forehand) and Loki T3 (Red, backhand)

In the multiball video you definitely move better than Gozo. I wouldn't worry about what he says if I was you.

I am confident he did not mean to offend or upset you. He was just being a prankster. That being said, as he was trying to be funny and make jokes, he did offend you. I just wouldn't take him seriously if I was you.

The purpose for the thread where you can post video and only people who actually KNOW HOW TO help you will comment is precisely so there are no peanut gallery comments, comments from people who cause harm instead of help the person who posted video.

The people who are allowed to give constructive feedback in that thread are quite competent players. But they also act like adults when giving advice.

So there is a value to it if you wanted to go that route.

The multiball is actually really quite decent lol. There are lots of good stuff like having short stroke, moving well, use of hips, fast recovery, etc... Not sure about 1st video coz that is a bit of a potato quality vid.

Could you post some pics of your grip? Idk but it feels a bit off for penhold somehow. Somehow it looks a bit more like the claw grip aka Yuna Ojio...

To get more spin you have to figure out some sort of finger action / lever arm which will directly cause the bat to spin the ball, then add it to your stroke. So the grip matters a LOT in table tennis.

I got a coach :)

It would probably be more useful posting some video playing against him. Whoever is blocking for you here can't give any sort of consistency so that is difficult for a beginning player like you to practice with and get quality repetitions against.

Agreed - have you asked your coach about your racket position? The tip of the racket is facing directly behind you through the entire stroke. This isn't really typical even for a penhold player.

Oh it was a different one I came up with. It doesn't matter now because I don't use it anymore (I use Dang Qiu)
Don't worry about my level going lower either, I already recovered :)

If you wanted to take a look at the Video Footage Safe Thread, the link is above. Then you can see what the benefit of posting video in that thread might be over having random fools who don't know what they are talking about giving comments that are not meant to help you. :)
Yep, I'm posting there next time around XD.

Oh its cuz the first one was just me playing, the 2nd being multiball (1 2 3)
which brings me to this point: You want fellow forumers to comment on your stroke but you show a video of you goofing around. How do you expect an on-the-point feedback. Your input is incorrect. Output, hence is likewise.

And the million dollar question is; will the outcome be any different if OP, using the original first video and he post in the Video Safe Thread instead? Truly a million dollar question.
