By coaching Fan Zhendong to Gold in 2024 Olympics and Wang Chuqin to Gold in 2025 World Championships, Wang Hao has the unique experience of now coaching two Chinese players to Gold against foreigners under high pressure, something Liu Guoliang hasn't experienced due to a combination of failing in his first shot(2004 Olympics) along with successfully creating all-Chinese finals and sometimes all-Chinese semifinals in successive championships during his time as head coach.

That failing in his first shot (2004 Olympics) was none other than coaching a player named .... Wang Hao.

Wow WCQ's pace was just. . . a different level even from a month ago. He hit so early to outpace Hugo.

That's the thing, the CNT has vast amount of resources 💰 💰💰 and talents 👬 to spare. I bet they had trained WCQ with partners just to beat Hugo.

I would say with so little resources and support, Hugo has achieved a tremendous milestone.

That was for me the scariest part, WCQ countering and redirecting Hugo consistently without changing his (WCQ) rallying distance. That used to be a Felix only thing and even he wasn't perfect.

I know it's probably pretty tough being so close to a gold medal and not getting it, but it's pretty amazing for Hugo to get a silver medal. Hugo Calderano is the only player from Brazil to ever win a medal at the World Championships. This after winning gold at the TT World Cup, and I believe the only Brazilian to medal at the TT World Cup as well. Past couple of months have been historic for Hugo.

Calderano ought to learn spinny attacks from Xu Xin. No spin -- no win. 😎

WCQ didn't respect Hugo's power at all! He purposefully came to the table to counter Hugo's bombs, talk about balls made of steel. Guess he learned that from Ma Long? He was blazing hot in the final.

Or maybe it was because Hugo couldn't give him high quality shots since his rubbers were already in tatters after LJK's game? Lol

Dude... do you watch TT or at least stay informed about TT ?

One trail 1-3 vs WCQ, that one manage to win but still that one's not strong mentally :ROFLMAO:

On the other corner WCQ whines as soon as someone barely touch his racket, like a toddler with his rattle...

And you want to talk about who's mentally stronger ?

Waow...
When someone starts with "dude", I know the level goes down.

As predicted, Wang not only didnt give hugo many opportunities to get the first attack, but also countered like no one’s business. A worthy world champion and worthy leader of the Men’s CNT

It's quite possibly WCQ did specific training just for this
