Sally Moyland is the champ ? Really ?
She's 18 years old with more power than Amy in her loops from both wings. She seems to have solved her consistency issues this year. USA has a good pipeline behind Sally as well. 14 year old Irene Yeoh nearly upset Sally in the SF. And 15 year old Tashiya Piyadasa won U17 GS and finished 2nd in U19 GS behind Sally.

USA National Table Tennis Championships (often referred to as the U.S. Indoor Championship) has been running since 1976 and is an indoor tournament open to only U.S. citizens. Conducted by the organization USA Table Tennis (colloquially known as USATT), which is the non-profit governing body for table tennis in the United States. The US National Tournament also serves as a qualifying tournament to determine the rosters of both the US National Table Tennis Team and the US Cadet and Junior Table Tennis Teams. This tournament is traditionally held in Las Vegas, Nevada, but is occasionally held in other cities.

Medals are played in singles and doubles among men and women, as well as in mixed doubles.

Tournament history

Several times there were attempts to organize a US national championship, but they were not recognized as official (1936, 1951, 1976).

In addition to determining the US champions, the U.S. The Nationals, along with two other National Ranking Events, determine the U.S. senior, cadet, and junior table tennis teams. Over 750 athletes signed up for the 2017 US Nationals in Las Vegas, Nevada. Former men's singles champions include Kanak Jha, Eric Owens and David Zhuang, while former women's singles champions include Lily Zhang, Jasna Reed and Wang Chen.

The record for the number of titles in men's singles is held by Zhuang David and Jha Kanak with 6 US titles, while the best among women - Bhushan Insook won as many as 11 singles titles in the late 70s and early 90s.

In 2020, the US national championship was not held due to the coronavirus epidemic.
