We're going to a decider. Asada has the game to win, but she really needs to cut down on unforced errors.

Whew! A close one, but Mana Asada 4-3,11-9 over Yang Yiyun with a serve that YYY returned long. Asada was down 5-1 in the decider, but she cleaned up her errors. Got a bit nervous up 10-7, but she pulled it through.

Kao wins the rematch with Chen Junsong 4-1. Sun Zheng will have one with Feng.

There are 2 Russian players in the MS final 8, competing under AIN (Individual Neutral Athletes).

No medal for Sid, and he fails to get revenge for Kanak Jha’s loss to Ionescu at the World Championships.
No medals in MS for the Taiwanese, as Sun avenges his loss to Feng in 7 games, and Kao loses to Sidorenko. AIN will get 2 medals in MS. Grebnev denies Fadeev and the hosts another medal with a win in 7, winning the last 4 points. Sun will be the only Asian medalist in MS.

No more medals for Idesawa as well.
