So few players (other than MS) for a SCT. These 2 events should have been scheduled in the immediate week after US Smash 2025.

US Smash for two weeks, then a week gap where you have to figure out training arrangements in the Americas, then Buenos Aires Contender. Many of the players have been on the road for a month straight at this point.

Champions Yokohama in a week also, got to get over there and adjust to the time zone difference.

That was how it used to be for China Open, Hong Kong Open and Japan Open in 2018 and 2019, 3 back-to-back events within a span of 3 weeks, with all singles matches being bo7.

a time of 20 events a year, lovely
but also a time when table tennis was only in the same asian and european countries, + Nigeria/Australia

Not to waste my time again.

Refer to this post about Aruna. Little difference in event participation among 2018, 2019 and 2023.
lol, why you use Aruna, where he self funds to even world championships
of course there will be little different amount pre and post WTT because it is his own money.

If he has funding from his gov, you still think it will be so little participation? you probably haven't heard any of his cries.
so, how come you are using Aruna... lol

Why don’t Aruna play WTT in Lagos?

If the qualifying camera for T1 is used for main draw, this might be the worst camera for a Star Contender i’ve ever seen lol
It’s embarrassing. I’m Brazilian and our federation always messes up something but WTT also has zero consideration for the fans. I’m not sure if it’s protocol to have T1 in a star contender have this camera, but cmon. It’s tolerable when T1 has its own arena with a high quality image (like in smashes, champions, and some star contenders), but that’s not the case here. Horrible angle, camera quality, and lighting. T2, T3, T4, look fine. Hopefully they improve T1 for main drawn

Just got home, thought it can't be that bad, turned it off after a second. Recently saw a highlight from the FZD vs Harimoto match in Paris and I didn't realize how much I miss the old angle. You could never appreciate those insane rallies as much with the side angle.

I wonder if Sato and Hashimoto are barred from teaming up by their new club configurations and alliances and wherher they would consider it to qualify for doubles in LA. They are still the most exciting doubles team in the world and one of the best though to be honest, when/if they pair, China will just start training against it.

Not sure if this article has been posted already. Hashimoto left the Mallets and Miki House to join Denso Polaris because "Denso actively supports overseas trips" and to avoid scheduling conflicts with T-League matches. She wants to improve her world ranking and ultimately participate in the LA Olympics.

I agree with @NextLevel that Hashimoto/Sato are the most exciting doubles team in the world and hope that they will team up again and qualify for LA.

for those that doesn't know, T-League has 25 league matches, and with Jan reserved for all japan nationals the rest of the league season gets quite busy (matches between sep to march)
and I just had a quick look at 2 of the players schedule, Nov, Dec and Feb is every week...

Wasting my time again.

Know that I'm being generous here using Aruna as an example. I could've picked the top JNT players from 2019 as they played consistently more (see quote below).

The crux is not how he's funded. Aruna's problem is that he has not markedly increased his participation from ITTF to WTT eras and yet he benefits from (and is taking full advantage of) the current world ranking system, namely the continental points, which invalidates your argument on the packed calendar.

For 2024, he played in 17 tournaments, 1 of which was the WTT Finals 2023 which was pushed to early 2024, and 3 of which were continental competitions, namely the African Games, African Championships and Africa Cup. Africa was the only continent with 3 continental competitions that year.

how many WTT tournaments are there today, and how many "opens" was there in 2017.
no matter what you trying to argue, you can't duck and dive from the facts that today has way more tournaments.

in fact, CNT main players are complaining there are too many tournaments, how come you not reading your teiba memo?
