Are you talking about all Dignics rubbers, or 09C specifically? I can get behind either of these to be honest, I find D05/80/64 to be smooth over the table (compared to Tenergy), but D05's top end is a bit violent. I think D64 is something of an unsung hero.

For Zyre, it looks like it's not going to be my kind of thing. Lots of comments about the speed being really high.
I think for all Dignics rubbers in general.

Yeah, 05 is speedy, but the lack of spin reception vs Tenergy still makes it easier for beginners I think (not that a beginner should be anywhere near it).

Tenergy was just brutally unforgiving - So bouncy, soft and received spin like the Tasmanian devil.

I'll definitely be trying Zyre03 - Like a magpie to shiny things, you'll never keep me away from the latest Butterfly rubbers!

Well, if you're currently on 09C then I think your feedback and a comparison would be really useful. Better get on with applying for a bank loan so you can buy it!

I tried my sheet of 2.7 on FH last night for a couple of hours and today for a similar period. I am coming from Bluegrip J1 (and other harder hybrids)

First impressions - it's certainly different. I found it played like a combination of a harder sponged hybrid and T05, which to me was a very good combination. The sound of contact on a well hit topspin is very T05 like and made me realise how much I missed that. The feeling is softer and more compliant than the 55deg or so would have you expect. Spin is certainly a strong suit, and the arc is wonderful whilst the control is good but probably not in the J1/C55/H3 league.

Early indications are that this is a great rubber for me but I need more time, including some matches to really validate this.

With the 1st tests, we already see people stating that Zyre is wonderful, has all the benefits of Tenergy and Dignics, and belivers will be sure that the rubber will play by itself. And the average of the adopters will have won more or less 20 points at the end of the year...

And the remaining 80 will buy Loki rubber

Guess this rubber’s strictly for the pros. The way people talk about how crazy fast (and pricey) it is already got me scared 😂
Once you are playing in a club, or playing more than 3 hours a week, nothing is strictly for the pros anymore. It is all about how much you train to use it and whether for the cost and your style, it improves your results or not. Everything has good and bad side. According to some people I was never good enough to use Tenergy 05. But when I played other juniors who were around my level, when they looped with it, the ball had so much spin I did not know what to do with it. I wanted that spin so I bought it too. And when I spun with it too, I started getting some of that spin lol. Later I decided I didn't know know how to control spin with it and stopped playing with it. Today though, I can see that I just needed to do certain drills and see how far I could get doing them, rather than change the rubber. But to be fair too, my results were generally good even when I used slower equipment (I beat some of the best players I ever beat using a Primorac Wood with Nexy Karis, two of the slowest things you will ever see used today). But my style usually doesn't rely on equipment, it is just more consistent with slower equipment but not threatening to some players, and more risky with faster equipment, where my errors against some players may be offset by hitting more winners. This is generally true for most players when they largely play topspin.

Can anyone advise should you get zyre 03 for backhand? 2.7 or 2.5?
Sorry, but why do you ask such a stupid question? Do we know
- what your playing style is
- how your footwork is
- if you are a beginner, intermediate or pro
- ...

We know nothing about you so how can you seriously expect an answer?

Even more so, we collectively know almost nothing about the rubber either  so asking for advice is a bit silly

Butterfly calls their thicker sponge + thinner topsheet a new technology, but Andro had the Ultramax Rasanter series out ages ago 😂
I agree completely, although strictly speaking, it's an ESN innovation not Andro, and other brands (e.g. Donic) had similar rubbers like this too.

A disappointing response on this sort of forum. Irrelevant of back ground if someone asked to use Neo 3 blue sponge on backhand, you’d probably say that’s a bad idea. I read before people are getting 2.5 for backhand so if it’s a case where the 2.7 would be hard to activate then I’d immediately go for the 2.5 then struggle with 2.7 on the backhand. As this is a forum to discuss zyre 03 I wanted to see if maybe someone tried the 2.7 on backhand and could tell me if the 2.5 could be a better option but I leave it that people haven’t really tried it enough yet. So if you don’t know the answer would recommend you say ‘the majority of members probably don’t know yet’ if you want to get involved in the conversation rather than calling someone stupid.

Bah, $88 at prott. I'll give it a go at that price.
This is the cheapest I can find Zyre so far. But ofc some question the legitimacy of Butterfly ProTT products

Ordered dignics from prott many times all legit. But spoke with them last night, he doesn’t have many, just 50. And all out of stock already.
